On October 2nd, 2019, the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, San Germán Campus held an open house for student organizations. During the activity, students were able to walk around and get to know the different student organizations on campus. Her Campus at Inter SG had a table at the event and we were able to directly interact with prospective writers and other students. However, not everyone is able to make it to these events, so I answered the most frequently asked questions in one place that is always accessible.
What is Her Campus?
Her Campus is the #1 media site and online magazine for college students, written by college students in almost 400 chapters located across 11 countries.
What does Her Campus at Inter SG do?
To put it simply: we write articles that will be published on the Her Campus website. However, we also harbor an inclusive safe space for our members and we organize events that will be beneficial for our members and the entire college community.
What are the benefits of joining Her Campus at Inter SG?
The main benefit of joining Her Campus at Inter SG is being able to publish your writing! The experience that this will give you is priceless and it will help you solidify your status as a writer; something that will no doubt look great on a resumé. Besides this, you’ll be a part of an incredible, inclusive team and you’ll receive goodies as an incentive from Her Campus sponsored partners every few months in the form of “Survival Kits”.
Are there any requirements to joining Her Campus at Inter SG?
There is a list of basic requirements for joining Her Campus at Inter SG. The main one is completing an application where you will be able to show us your skills as a writer by providing a writing sample. Every member of HC Inter SG is required to fill in this application.
What can I write about?
The Her Campus website allows their writers to write about nearly anything. Including: relationships, politics, sex, the environment, finance, skincare, career advice, mental health, campus events, etc. Articles can range from lists to argumentative essays to profiles.

As college students ourselves, we know how difficult and stressful balancing a lot of responsibilities at the same time can be. However, as Co-Correspondents we are committed to work with our team to ensure that everyone meets their deadlines without too much pressure. That is why we announce a lineup two weeks prior to the deadline. This will give all our writers more than enough time to write an article.
Can men join Her Campus?
Absolutely! As an online magazine mostly targeted towards college women, the question of if we accept male members into the organization is brought up frequently. Besides this, the “Her” in Her Campus can be a little intimidating. However, Her Campus at Inter SG is an inclusive space open to anyone who meets the requirement of filling in an application. We do not discriminate against anyone for their gender, race, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity, disabilities, etc. All we care about is your commitment to our organization and your written content!
