Personally, I don’t follow many YouTube channels, but one channel I do tend to keep up with a lot is BuzzFeedVideo. They have a bunch of series that I watch, including “Worth It,” a series involving finding the best price points for food, and (previously) the “Try Guys,” which is now an independent channel separated from BuzzFeed (some of their old videos are still on the BuzzFeed channel). But my favorite channel of all time has to be “BuzzFeed Unsolved.”

The main premise of this series is two guys named Shane and Ryan discussing mysteries throughout history that have yet to be solved. They visit some of the most haunted and paranormal locations in the world as paranormal investigators. The one reason why I love this channel so much is because Ryan is a believer in ghosts, while Shane is not — providing a ton of humorous banter throughout each episode.

There are currently three different series on the channel: the “Supernatural” series, the “True Crime” series and the “Sports Conspiracies” series. I absolutely love mystery and the paranormal, so the “Supernatural” series has to be my favorite. Here are my personal favorite “BuzzFeed Unsolved: Supernatural” episodes from each season.

Season One: “3 Horrifying Cases of Ghosts and Demons”

This episode is one of my favorites because Ryan and Shane investigate not just one location, but three. Fans of this show believe that some of the most convincing evidence of the paranormal was recorded in this episode.

Season Two: “The Haunted Halls of Waverly Hills Hospital”

In this episode in season two, Ryan and Shane travel to Louisville, Kentucky to investigate Waverly Hills Sanatorium, one of the most haunted hospitals on the planet. The two stay overnight in the sanatorium in efforts to try to communicate with any entity that may haunt the place.

Season Three: “The Horrors of Pennhurst Asylum”

Alright, I might be a little biased towards this episode, solely due to the fact that I grew up not too far from Pennhurst Asylum itself. Pennhurst is now a major Halloween attraction in Chester County, PA, but before, it used to be a hospital where they treated the “feeble-minded.” There were some seriously messed up things that happened there.

Season Four: “The Demonic Bellaire House”

In this season four episode, Ryan and Shane visit the Bellaire House in Bellaire, Ohio. The house is located near sites of many coal mines where accidents have occurred resulting in many deaths. I like this episode in particular because of the funny responses Ryan and Shane receive using their Ghost Box, a device that scans radio channels at high frequencies that supposedly can help communicate with the dead.

Season Five: “The Demonic Curse of Annabelle the Doll”

Yes, the infamous Annabelle; remember the 2014 supernatural horror movie literally called “Anabelle?” Ryan and Shane visit the actual Annabelle doll located in Monroe, Connecticut.

“BuzzFeed Unsolved: Supernatural” kicked off their sixth season in late September with the investigation of the place that the internet went crazy over this year: Area 51. I’m super excited to check it out and see how the series progresses. Now, excuse me while I go binge for the next few weeks.
