For those of you traveling over the holidays, I hope you know the best and worst are waiting for you. On one end you have a vacation waiting for you and on the other, you have to probably fly or drive longer than you’d want. I know that the actual “traveling” part of traveling is actually the most dreaded part of the whole experience because it can be uncomfortable and long, so here are a couple of tips to hopefully make your drive or flight a little more bearable and maybe even a little more enjoyable.
- Moisturizing

I don’t know about you, but when my skin is dry (no matter where on my body), I get very uncomfortable and super irritated. It actually becomes the only thing I can think about when I can’t do anything about it, and I really wish for any moisturizer to appear to fix my very real, first world problem. It’s even worse on flights because the altitude kills your glow-y, dewy look with its dry air problem. I have to always have a mini moisturizer on deck for trips because this happens extremely quickly, like you take off and you’re already peeling quickly. I also keep a small hand lotion on me because who likes clammy hands, right? This moisturizer and hand lotion are my favorite and fit under the flight security regulations so you’ll never feel dry while traveling.
- Perfume Rolling

This one seems kind of minuscule but trust me, it’s crucial for you feeling comfortable the whole trip. For me, I have a weird fear of not smelling good and having B.O. which is random, I know, but I feel like its a little justified okay? Like all your skincare products, as soon as that plane is in the air, your perfume you just sprayed a couple hours ago is gone. Don’t ask me about the scientific specifics okay—just know it’s gone. So instead of worrying about having to run to your relatives’ bathroom or the hotel restroom as soon as you get to your destination to use your perfume, just bring a roller in your carryon. Roller perfumes are so easy to carry and work super well for times just like this. Most major scents have them and you can Amazon prime them literally the day before your trip. A super convenient solution for a super big worry.

Another seemingly random trip but if you don’t listen to anything in this article just listen to this. I absolutely hate, no, despise having chapped and dry lips. Other than my face being dry, this is probably my number one annoyance. Like it’s just so uncomfortable and unnecessary so why do that to yourself, especially on flights where any moisture is sucked out of your lips. Something to try during the flight is putting on a lip mask for the duration of the flight, and then wiping it off in the bathroom or right before landing. That way, your lips didn’t even have the option of going dry, plus you look even more put together and awake once you’re off the flight. Also bring mini Vaselines, instead of chapsticks like Carmax, because it isn’t as moisturizing and you’ll feel annoyed after you’ve put on your Carmax for the eighth time. Try it out, and I guarantee you’ll be in love.
So those are my three tips to make your flights or drives a little more bearable and a little less annoying for you this holiday season. They may not seem like huge changes, but they go a long way to making you feel more comfortable before you even get to your destination.
