Even though I’ve lived in Atlanta for my entire life, I hadn’t spent very much time in Decatur. Before I started attending Agnes Scott this fall, I was excited to have the opportunity to explore a part of my hometown that I didn’t know much about. Although I still have much left to see in Decatur, I have discovered many great places to go to, including restaurants.
So far these are a few of my favorite restaurants within walking distance of Agnes Scott:
Noodle
Noodle is an Asian restaurant with a variety of different rice and noodle dishes. So far, my favorite thing to get there is the build your own noodle bowl with tofu and peanut sauce. They also make amazing fried rice and veggie dumplings. I’m excited to try some of their soups now that it’s starting to get colder out.

Price: $; the majority of their meals are $10 or under

Grindhouse Killer Burgers
As you can tell by the name, Grindhouse Killer Burgers is a burger place. They serve veggie burgers, impossible burgers, beef burgers, as well as turkey burgers. All of their burgers are customizable, so you can add a variety of toppings onto them, such as cheese and sliced avocado. They also have very good fried pickles.
Distance from Agnes Scott: about 0.5 miles
Price: $$; one patty (except for the impossible burger, which is an extra $2.50) goes for $5 plus any additional charges from toppings (some toppings are free; others range from $0.25 to $1.50). Overall, pretty good prices, as long as you don’t go crazy with a bunch of different toppings.
Dog Towne Frank’s
Dog Towne Frank’s is a hot dog place very close to campus. They offer a variety of different hot dog and topping combinations, and all of them can be made as veggie dogs. Their menu also features many sides, such as tater tots and mac & cheese. Both the tater tots and Mac & cheese are amazing, and I highly recommend them.
Distance from Agnes Scott: about 0.1 miles
Price: $; most of their hot dogs are around $7, and most of their sides are only $3 or $4

Raging Burrito & Taco
Raging Burrito & Taco is a Mexican restaurant located right next to the Decatur Marta station. They offer a variety of different burritos, tacos, and quesadillas. So far I’ve tried their cheese quesadilla and their tofu burrito, both of which I really enjoyed.
Distance from Agnes Scott: about 0.5 miles
Price: $$; many meals are under $10; similar to Grindhouse Killer Burgers the prices are generally good, as long as you don’t go crazy with the toppings.
