The long awaited Grammy nominations are finally here, I’ve decided to give a few of my predictions for the upcoming event.

Record of the year

“Hey, Ma”- Bon Iver

“Bad Guy”- Billie Eilish

“7- Rings”- Ariana Grande

“Hard Place”- H.E.R

“Talk”-Khalid

“Old Town Road” Lil Nas X feat. Billy Ray Cyrus

“Truth Hurts”- Lizzo

“Sunflower”- Post Malone & Swae Lee

For record of the year, a few of these amazing songs come to mind but the one that sticks out for this category is “Talk” by Khalid now I know this might be a hot take but Talk is pretty well written, preformed, uplifting, and catching which makes it a great choice for Record of the year.

Album Of The Year

“I, I”- Bon Iver

“Norman F-ing Rockwell!”- Lana Del Rey

“When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?”- Billie Eilish

“Thank U, Next”- Ariana Grande

“I Used To Know Her”- H.E.R

“7”- Lil Nas X

“Cuz I Love You (DELUXE)”- Lizzo

“Father of the Bride”- vampire Weekend

As much as it pains me to not go with Lana on this one because I will admit I am a STAN and it is one hell of an album I have to think Billie Eilish will take this one home. “WWAFA,WDWG?” is a masterpiece with excellent imagery of inside the head of young Billie Eilish. To top it off, Billie preforms this album beautifully on stage.

Song of the Year

“Always Remember Us This Way”- Lady Gaga

“Bad Guy” – Billie Eilish

“Bring My Flowers Now”- Tanya Tucker

“Hard Place”- H.E.R

“Lover”- Taylor Swift

“Norman F-ing Rockwell”- Lana Del Rey

“Someone You loved”- Lewis Capaldi

“Truth Hurt” Lizzo

Honestly, let’s be real here. We have all been somewhere where all hell breaks loose when Truth Hurts comes on, that’s what makes it song of the year for me.

Best New Artist

Black Pumas

Billie Eilish

Lil Nas X

Lizzo

Maggie Rogers

Rosalia

Tank and the Bangas

Yola

Best New Artist is really a tough one, while both Lil Nas X and Lizzo seemed to have shot o stardom this year and Billie Eilish  seems to have charted and stayed there I have to say Lil Nas X might take the cake on this one. Lil Nas X came out of nowhere and stayed at the top of the charts while whooing everyone with his witty tweets and awesome coming out story. He has been able to stay relevant, relatable, and talented.

Now I know there are tons of other awards at the Grammys but I just wanted to highlight the big ones, for the full list head to variety.com!
