Although 2019 is winding to an end along with the closings of many familiar campus restaurants, keep an eye out for these new exciting eateries that have sought out a home in Harvard Square. 

  1. Veggie Grill

Veggie Grill is a California-based vegan restaurant chain. At Veggie Grill, vegetables are the highlight. They aim to make bold and delicious plant-based dishes to bring people together over a fast and casual atmosphere. After opening for business on October 13, it is located on 57 JFK Street and hosts a menu including a variety of sandwiches, tacos, salads, and grain bowls.

  1. Dig Inn

Another healthy fast-food joint, Dig Inn will be coming soon to Harvard Square with its location at 82 Mt. Auburn Street. Originally from New York, Dig Inn serves food purchased from small-scale farms to curate its regularly-changing menu. They aim to serve meals that are healthy, delicious, convenient and cooked in a way that reminds you of home.

  1. Bluestone Lane

Occupied in the former space of the former Crema Cafe (27 Brattle St.), Bluestone Lane is a new café inspired by Australian coffee shops. The company manufactures its own coffee grounds for drinks and offers seasonal foods in the form of salads, toasts, and other café staples

  1. Kung Fu Tea

It’s official. A new bubble tea shop is coming to town. Projected to be located at 1160 Mass Ave, Kung Fu Tea is a popular made-to-order bubble tea restaurant with locations all over the nation. They boast an extensive menu of drinks ranging from milk tea, slush, milk cap, to espresso. 

  1. Spyce

Planning to open in 2020, Spyce is opening a new location in the old Chipotle space in One Brattle Square. Founded by MIT alumni, Spyce will feature robot chefs that prepare a variety of grain bowls and salads. With its robotic kitchen, Spyce hopes to make their food more affordable and to provide healthy food in an accessible, easier, customizable way.
