For some years now, you have been a source of my information, a virtual public diary, and a way to connect with people near and far. You have also been a complete distraction; however, I stuck by your side. But on November 11, 2019 at 11:57pm, you really crossed a line. I disregarded your false illusions and your technical difficulties — even being hacked just hours after posting a picture with my little sister — but you gave up.

My handle, password, and email had all been changed and you didn’t even have the decency to send me an email letting me know. You locked me out with no way to let my friends and family know. I called and I emailed and I sent messages — my friends even called — and you continued to ignore me. And then, without so much as an automated email, you deleted me. Wiped me from your world.

I tried living without you for a little while, but you have to understand that you were what connected me with personalized advertisements and funny videos, and I feel like I need those in my life. While I think our break was good and helped me learn more about what I want out of this relationship, I’m willing to give you another chance. I know I deserve better, but I want to try and improve what we have built for so long now together, first. I’m sure you still don’t really care but I’d really like to make this work.

Also, I’d appreciate it if you stop blocking me from liking and following other people. It’s a little too controlling for this new start.

Truly yours,

Nina
