This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FIT chapter.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and there is no better place to spend it than in NYC. There are endless fun-filled opportunities to do and explore throughout New York to put you in the holiday spirit. Here are a couple activities you can do with your family and friends!

1. Byrant Park

The Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park is one of the only places in NYC to go ice skating for free! As long as you come prepared with your own ice skates, and a lock to store your shoes you are all set. If ice skating isn’t your area of expertise, they also have a Holiday Market full of shops, food, jewelry, apparel and so much more.

2. Rockefeller Center

Head down to Rockefeller Center and get that adorable picture in front of the Christmas tree. It is visible between West 48th and 51st Streets as well as Fifth and Sixth Avenues up until January 17th. If you want to get closer to the tree and have some fun while doing it, get some skates and hit the ice. Standard admission is first come first serve and is $25.

3. Radio City Music Hall’s Christmas Spectacular

If you want to watch and jaw-dropping performance then the Christmas Spectacular is a must see. The 90 minute show has up to 140 performers full of singing and dancing. Watch the Rockettes steal the show away with their famous kickline.

4. Macy’s Herald Square

If you want to see a store decked out for Christmas, Macy’s Herald Square has this one covered, literally. Santaland allows kids the expierence to meet Santa, write him letters, and explore the whole 9th level covered in decorations. They also have stunning window displays located on Broadway between 34th and 35th streets. These windows showcase holiday scenes, putting you right in the Christmas spirit.

5. Santacon

A Christmas event specifically for the 21+ crowd. Santacon happens once every year where New Yorker’s dress in creative themed Christmas outfits while bar hopping all day and night. If you are 21 or older go strap on that Santa suit, drink up and party with the thousands of other Santa’s crawling around the city this December 14th.
