With less than two months away from the Animal Crossing: New Horizons release, people were anxiously awaiting any announcement that Nintendo would release an Animal Crossing themed switch. Nobody was even sure that it would be announced, and I myself was starting to have my doubts.
I have been holding off on buying a Nintendo Switch for years now because I knew that when Animal Crossing came out, they would release a Nintendo Switch that was Animal Crossing themed. For a moment, I did fall in love with the teal Nintendo Switch Lite, and I almost got it as they announced accessories for the Lite before they announced the actual switch. I was tempted to buy it and start playing the other games I haven’t been able to play because I didn’t have a Switch.
But then it happened. Nintendo posted a first look at the Nintendo Switch that’s a beautiful color, has Tom Nook, Timmy, and Tommy on the dock, and has icons similar to the Animal Crossing 3DS engraved on the Switch itself.

Although Animal Crossing: New Horizons isn’t going to be released until March 20, you can get this beautiful system for $300 on March 13. The system will not include the game which means I will be making an even bigger hole in my wallet, but hey, anything for going into no-interest debt in a fictional game.

If you already own a Switch, for the time being, Japan has announced that they’ll also be selling the dock and Joy-Cons separately. No guarantees it’ll be the same in America, but there’s a chance that they will.
Now, the countdown to both of these anticipated releases continues, and I have less than two months to figure out how to get money out of my savings account without my mom questioning what I’m doing.
