Experiment with new positions

It’s always fun to try new things in the bedroom, and one of the simplest ways you can change things up is to experiment with other positions. Aside from the usual, there are a variety of more unconventional positions that you might find to be more, or just as, satisfying than the standard ones. Try stepping out of your comfort zone with positions that stimulate other body parts or switch things up with different roles.

Use sex toys or props

Sex toys offer additional pleasure and stimulation when used during sex. Vibrators are especially handy because they stimulate the clitoris, which can speed up orgasms. Aside from sex toys, it doesn’t hurt to introduce props, such as handcuffs, blindfolds or other bondage equipment, depending on how adventurous you are.

Role-play

Explore your imagination and act out all your wildest sexual fantasies with role-play. For those who have been in a relationship for a long time, role-play is guaranteed to spice things up and bring a new level of excitement into your sex life. The options are limitless as you can experiment with concepts on the tamer side, such as teacher/schoolgirl, or kinkier ideas if you’re more adventurous. Try wearing themed costumes to really bring the heat and get in the spirit!

Bring food to the bedroom

As one of the less demanding ways to get out of your comfort zone, food-play can add an element of humor and excitement to your romantic night with your partner. It can be a fun addition to foreplay and maybe it could induce higher levels of arousal watching your partner eat food off of you or vice versa. To be on theme for Valentine’s Day, try whipped cream and cherries, chocolate strawberries or even a strawberry cheesecake!

Put on a themed playlist

It’s a common thing for couples to turn on music before or during sex, as it’s no surprise that feel good and seductive music gets you in the mood. R&B seems to be the genre of choice since usually the lyrical content is sexually suggestive, and the instrumentals are typically slower and sensual. Make your own custom playlist or select from a list of curated playlists on Spotify or Apple Music.

And there you have it! My list of some of the hottest ways to spice up your sex life for Valentine’s Day! I encourage all couples out there to really take the time to enjoy yourselves on this day and maybe even try something new in your sex life. Happy lovemaking!
