A Few Fantastic Little Shops to Check Out

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JMU chapter.

Personally, I love finding all the cute tiny shops on Instagram, Etsy, Twitter, and those that have their own websites. They always have such great prices for such great quality items! Over the past year, I have found some that are my absolute favorites that I wanted to share!

SKIN by Saint

Skin by Saint is a great skin care shop that was created by Amity Saintelus. Amity is a new mother in Florida who decided to make this shop to sell 100% natural skin care products for everyone. She guarantees the results and I can speak from experience, her products are nothing but amazing. I use the goatmilk soap, lavender scrub, and lavender moisturizer all the time and I have seen such an improvement in my skin, especially that I break out less! The shop will be restocking in the next 1-2 weeks. Her products are the best skin care products I’ve used and will continue to use, so be sure to go check her out on Etsy!

One Oak

One Oak is currently an online shop created by Makayla Horning in Lancaster, PA. Makayla makes the most adorable scrunchies, masks, and other creative products! I have bought many of her scrunchies and they are so cute and work so well to hold my hair up. Her masks are also a must have during this pandemic. She has plenty of patterns to choose from. She also hand picks clothes for men and women that are one-of-a-kind. Makayla sometimes holds pop up shops as well, so if you’re ever in Lancaster (after the pandemic) go check it out. Not only is Makayla talented, but she is also so inspiring! You can find her shop online or on Instagram @oneoaklancaster

Cactus Thrifting

Cactus Thrifting is a shop on Instagram and Etsy created by Megan Alyward. Megan makes gorgeous earrings and necklaces that are each unique and stunning. She is also so nice and helpful and will work with you to create your perfect necklace. I just recently bought crystal hoop earrings and a fun necklace from here and I am in love with them! I also found out about this shop on Tik Tok which I think is pretty awesome since the shop is in Georgia. You can buy already made pieces of jewelry on her Etsy, or direct message her on Instagram @cactusthrifting if you have any questions.

LR Bottles

LR Bottles is an incredible shop on instagram that bedazzles champagne bottles, shot glasses, and cups for colleges. The shop was created by Alyssa Snyder and Irina Frangos in New Jersey. For my birthday this year, my cousin who is friends with the owners, had them make me a super fun and sparkly JMU bottle. I loved it and can’t wait to put it on display in my apartment! Their champagne bottles are perfect for decorating your kitchen with, meanwhile their shot glasses are perfect to bring for a night out because they have a beaded necklace they’re attached to, so you most likely won’t lose it. These bottles, shot glasses, and cups are perfect for college commitments or gifts for your friends and family! The shop is on Instagram @lrbottles and you direct message them to order.

Stick with It

Stick with It is a shop on Instagram that creates handmade stickers for schools. They can be designed however you want, just direct message the shop and they will work with you to create your perfect sticker! The shop also creates greek life stickers that are really awesome. I ordered a JMU sticker from here a few months ago and when it came in I was super impressed and happy with it. I can’t wait to order more! The stickers look great on water bottles and computers especially. Each sticker is $8 plus a $1 shipping fee. Go check out the shop on Instagram @stick.w.it.
