The fashion scene can’t get enough of throwback trends lately. After the invasion of mom’s jeans and chokers from the 90s, celebrities and it girls have already started to show up with pieces of clothing that look like they came directly from the first decade of the millennium.

To remember some iconic trends, we selected 10 Y2K pieces that promise to make a comeback to our closets. Who knows, maybe you can get inspired and bet on a cool nostalgic look!

Tracksuits Set

Track is back! The sweatsuit set was a major trend of the early ’00s (hello, Juicy Couture). Paris Hilton, JLo and Lindsay Lohan were crazy about them, especially the monochromatic velvet ones. They were not used only as a stay-at-home outfit: sports shelters went from mall to restaurant, from park to cinema. With the extra time at home, the comfortable clothes gained more space in our wardrobe and tracksuit is once again part of our every day life. On the streets and on the catwalks, nowadays the shapes of the set are wider and come with prints, vibrant colors or pastel tones – without forgetting the tie-dye, of course.

In partnership with Vetements (rising luxe fashion brand) , in 2017, Juicy Couture revived the sweatshirts with the brand name stamped on the behind. The novelty fell in favor of a group of it girls like Kylie Jenner and Rihanna. And who doesn’t like to be stylish and comfortable at the same time?

Low-waisted Pants

One of the most controversial trends in fashion is back. That’s right, the low-waisted pants are making the heads of several famous people around the world. The piece that was a hit in the 2000s marked generations and brings many doubts whenever it tries to return to the fashion scene. Miley Cyrus has already shown that she is a fan of the style. But remember, the most important thing is to feel comfortable and safe in your clothes.

Slip Dress

The dress with bright and satin fabric has become a darling of celebrities. Both in a more street style proposal than in a party look, there is no mistake. Have you ever wanted to go around rocking Paris Hilton and Britney Spears? This is your chance to shine!

Exposed Thong

That’s right, you didn’t read it wrong! The exposed thong, or “whale tail”, was a truly iconic trend from the early 2000s. Panty strap plus low waist jeans were a combo must two decades ago and, now, it appears to be coming back. Brazilian singer Anitta, Model Bella Hadid and even Dua Lipa walked around with their underwear intentionally exposed more than once. Since this is a very debatable trend, tell us, do you like it or think it should be returned immediately to the Y2K?

Super Croppeds

The cropped top was a hit in the 90s and kept the hype in the beginning of the millennium; the difference, though, is that they got even shorter! At the era of the low-waist jeans and the belly ring, the more skin showing, the better. The best thing about this piece is that you can DIY at home, transforming that t-shirt that is standing in your closet. Not to mention it helps a lot in the heat!

Camouflage

Camouflage, which has been back for some time, is a gorgeous trend and easy to combine. It is worth investing in a piece – be it a jacket, pants or shirt – and rock the look!

Baguette Handbag

Born in 1997 and conceived by designer Silvia Fendi, the Baguette Handbag became the It bag after being featured on Sex and the City. Once it was established as Carrie Bradshaw’s go-to purse, it became a cultural phenomenon. The accessory – named in honor of the way the French carry bread, under the armpit – has risen in popularity once again.

The compact style has been making a comeback for some time now and several brands are investing in the production of the model in different sizes and colors. So if you haven’t already, it’s time to welcome the silhouette into your wardrobe and give a chance to this new (ou should I say old) it girl fav.

High-Top Boots

Over the knee and Ankle boots have dominated the feet of the celebrities in last years, but the new trend is the comeback of the length just below the knee. Different colors, models and prints: you will surely find one that suits you.

Strappy Sandal

If you went to a party at Y2K, you would definitely find someone with a bandage dress and a powerful strappy sandal. Colorful, neutral, with or without heels: the straps enssures a touch of personality to the look. What do you think of this comeback?

Lip Gloss

The lip gloss is back and it doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon! Actually, glow makeup in general has returned. After a few years of a lot of matte foundation and very dry lipstick, the trend now is a bright and illuminated face. Gorgeous!

Hey, are you already convinced that the Y2K are back? Choose your favorite trend and rock the looks!
