After much uncertainty, The Bachelorette is finally back! Clare Crawley from Juan Pablo’s season of The Bachelor is our new bachelorette. This will be her fourth time trying to find love on Bachelor Nation shows and at 39 she is the oldest bachelorette to date. However, despite her being the oldest, I doubt that will make for any less drama. This first episode was exciting and left me wanting so much more. Here are the top four most exciting moments from The Bachelorette season 16 premier.
- When Clare Declares That She May Have Just Met Her Husband

This is probably the most surprising moment during any season premiere. Usually, we are just meeting all the guys and picking a favorite, but this time Clare picked one too. There have been some pretty dramatic confessions of love very quickly in this show, but none quite like this. Last season, Luke P. admitted that he was starting to fall in love with Hannah during the second episode and it had viewers completely up in arms. Yet, we’ve never seen the lead feel so strongly about any one person. Love at first sight is dramatic even for The Bachelorette.
- The Yosef and Tyler C. Drama

I just have to say that Tyler C. from last season would never. But also, why was this dude trying to start drama on the first night? Tyler C. came in hot on night one claiming that Yosef was being “reckless on Instagram” prior to the show. I assume that just means he was talking to other girls that Tyler C. knew, but this drama was an interesting way to start the season. Yosef seemed a little disingenuous, but Clare didn’t like that Tyler was starting drama so early on and sent him packing. if this is the drama now, I’m interested to see what is going to happen next.
- The First Kiss with Blake

Even though Claire made the declaration that she thinks she just met her husband, the first kiss was with someone different. Clare has a soft spot for Blake because he was the only man to reach out to her on social media when she expressed that she was having a difficult time in quarantine. Blake was technically not allowed to do this, but Claire appreciated the risk. Because of all the drama between Yosef and Tyler C, I feel like we did not get to meet as many of the men as we usually would, however, I am very excited to get to know Blake.
- How Does Clare Blow Up the Bachelorette?

The preview of the rest of the season left viewers with some pretty juicy questions. At one point in the trailer, Chis Harrison tells Clare that “she just blew up The Bachelorette” as the camera pans to a teary Clare. There are so many rumors circulating that there is more than one bachelorette this season, but how or if that even happens is still so unknown. All I know is this season is about to be dramatic.
I’m very excited for my favorite TV show to finally be back, even if it’s on Tuesday nights instead of Mondays!
