For a lot of people in college, Halloween is a huge deal. It’s the one night (or nights) a year that you can choose to be whoever you want and dress however you want. Some people spend months planning amazing costumes, and some people throw something together the night before.

It can be so much fun putting together a costume to wear, but it can also cost a lot of money and cause a lot of stress. To save you time and energy, I’ve put together a few easy costume ideas you can use that cost little to nothing.

Mummy

This is a super basic costume because you only need one thing for it: gauze. Wrap yourself with gauze however you want and put some dark makeup around your eyes, and you’re all done!

Rodrick from “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”

I absolutely love this idea because “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” is such an iconic movie! For this costume, you just need some black pants, a plain black tee-shirt, and white paint. You’re going to want to write “Loded Diper” on the shirt and ta da! All you need is some black eyeliner on and you’re good to go.

Frat Boy

Ah, the frat boy. A common sighting on all college campuses. To be a frat boy, you’re going to need an oversized button down (steal your dad’s if you need to), a baseball cap, and of course, a red solo cup. Make sure you wear your hat backwards, and pair your fit with some converse or air forces.

Hippie

Far out, man. A hippie is a super simple costume to throw together if you’re short on time. All you need is some flared jeans, a loose shirt, a headband, and a pair of (preferably round) sunglasses. Pair it with some soft makeup, and you’ll be looking like you walked straight out of the 70s in no time.

Boxer

This costume is not only super cute; but super comfy too! You’ll need a pair of black spandex shorts, a black sports bra, and a satin robe. You can add some black eye shadow around your eyes to really sell the look. Now, no matter where you go, you’ll be ready to fight. Bonus points if you wrap your knuckles!

Post Malone

To achieve the perfect Post costume, all you need is a black marker and an oversized flannel. First, braid your hair into two braids. Take your black marker and draw on some face and neck tattoos and throw on your flannel. You can even draw on some facial hair if you truly want to commit. Now you’re ready to party like a rockstar! (See what I did there??)
