With all the craziness that has been going on this fall semester, I’ve been desperately in need of some good new shows on Netflix to help me unwind and relax, and lately it feels like there’s been no shortage of good things to watch. Thankfully, Netflix has given us all the variety in binge-worthy TV shows that we oh so, desperately need. I’ve been doing an extensive amount of Netflix-ing lately (when I can find the time) and feel like I should share the ones that I think are best. Whether you need something to give yourself a study break or want to give yourself and some friends a chill night in, here are some great things on Netflix you might want to check out.

Emily in Paris

I binge watched Emily in Paris in three days! It’s a brand-new Netflix original starring Lily Collins, and it’s perfect for when you want something that doesn’t have a ton of seasons. It’s about a young girl who moves to Paris for her job without speaking the language, and it’s seriously made me want to move to Europe even more than I already do!

The Great British Baking Show

This one is by no means new, but it currently has a new season that is so good. Netflix now owns the show and is releasing one episode a week. It’s so wholesome and entertaining and makes me want to bake every time I watch it! If you haven’t checked out The Great British Baking Show yet, I would highly recommend it.

The Haunting of Bly Manor

I’m currently in the process of watching this one, and it’s great for if you like something scarier. It’s made by the same people who made The Haunting of Hill House, and it tells the story of an American au pair in the 80s who moves to a remote manor in England to take care of two children. This one’s great for a night in with friends if you can’t do scary stuff alone.

Schitt’s Creek

Everyone has been telling me to watch Schitt’s Creek lately – it took me a while to give in, but it’s great. It tells the story of a wealthy family who loses most of their money and has to move to a small town where they don’t fit in. If you want quick, funny episodes to watch while you take a study break, this is perfect for you. There are a lot of seasons to get through, but the episode are so short that it’s actually not too much. The newest season just came out on Netlfix and it’s supposed to be so good.

Unsolved Mysteries

I am a huge fan of a good true crime series, and Unsolved Mysteries is great. Even my friends and family who aren’t usually a fan of these types of shows like it. It’s a Netflix original and the second season just came out. It’s about crimes or just strange occurrences that have happened and still haven’t been solved, and it’s so interesting!

Mindhunter

Yes, I have a second true crime show – but this one’s so good! Mindhunter is loosely based off the people who founded the Behavioral Sciences Unit in the FBI. It’s relatively new, and its second season just came out on Netflix. If you love shows like Criminal Minds or NCIS, I’d definitely recommend Mindhunter.

Hopefully these give you some good ideas if you’re in a T.V. show drought, or just want something new to watch with friends. Happy watching!
