After three years of radio silence, Bryson Tiller finally came back and dropped his new album titled Anniversary. As any other big fan of R&B and Bryson Tiller, the drop was met with high hopes and excitement (especially after having his cover of Drake’s Finesse on repeat for all of the quarantine).

Here are a first time reaction and review of each song on the long-awaited Anniversary:

Years Go By- This song starts with quiet talking and is the perfect way to lead into the album. It creates a build-up that leads to his smooth sound. The key message from the intro is, “You just gotta do you.” The rest of the song lives up to the hype of the intro. Bryson Tiller delivers on this one as expected. 10/10

Always Forever- The beat on this song is very smooth and is slower compared to the first track. This song is a great song to relax to or use on a late-night drive: he definitely comes through on this one as well. 10/10

I’m Ready For You- This song has a different sound than the first two. The shift in sound is a nice change, but it does not have the same feel or effect as the first two. You will have to listen to yourself and form your own opinion on this one. 7/10

Things Change- The rhythm and flow on Things Change are the best so far. Tiller added a rap on this song which definitely taps into a personal liking of rap, but that is up to personal taste. If you are not into rap, the part is small and at the end of the song and does not ruin it. 9/10

Timeless Interlude- When going through the album, the interlude came as a surprise as it is three minutes long. Interludes are typically only a minute. This interlude is very relaxed but has the same Bryson Tiller flow on it. Honestly, it should have been put on the album as a regular track not an interlude. 8/10

Sorrows- Tiller comes back after the interlude and kills it on Sorrows. This one is more relaxed and gives off a late-night/chill vibe like mentioned previously. 10/10

Inhale- This one is also one of the songs where Tiller creates a different sound as this one features female vocals. As the songs get more creative and stray away from his usual sound, they are typically hit or miss (personally). However, Inhale sounds cool and is again very relaxed. 9/10

Outta Time (feat. Drake)- Outta Time was highly anticipated because it features Drake. Especially after hearing Tiller’s cover of Drake’s Finesse, a lot of people were eager to hear this combination. They are an amazing duo. The two should absolutely collaborate again. Their voices complement each other very well and create the classic R&B flow. 10/10

Keep Doing What You’re Doing- This song starts out with a recording of his mamaw wishing him a happy birthday which gives off a similar vibe to SZA (she featured recordings of her mom on her album CTRL). The message that Tiller tries to give his audience through the song is great, and he preaches more in this song. 10/10

Next To You- Tiller closes out Anniversary with a bang. This song could be described as more upbeat than the songs that preceded it. 9/10

Bryson Tiller delivered on this long-awaited album for sure. He did not disappoint his fans at all with Anniversary, and he will hopefully release more music soon.
