Exfoliate. Sunscreen. Moisturize. Sleep. Repeat.

Here are six amazing skincare products I use on a regular basis that might seriously make you appreciate skincare a little bit more.

CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser

This cleanser is hands down the best face wash I have used to this day. It’s so soft and leaves your skin supple and not stripped at all. I love using this in the morning to refresh my face after a long night’s sleep, and before bed to leave my skin ready for my serums.

CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion with Sunscreen – SPF 30

I NEVER step out of the house without sunscreen on, even on a cloudy day. I will use at least SPF 30, this is the most widely recommended and lowest grade to use to protect your skin. This moisturizer with SPF 30 in it is absolutely amazing, it doesn’t smell like sunscreen and won’t leave a white cast over your skin. It also works so well to prime your skin before any foundations or concealers.

The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

This product is life-changing. I was scared of using a chemical peel mainly because it just sounded so intimidating, but this is the easiest way to exfoliate effectively. Just ten minutes once a week and you will glow so bright after maybe one or two uses.

Some definitions to help you out:

AHA – alpha hydroxy acids. So anything glycolic, lactic, or citric. These will target anything surface level, so that pinprickly feeling you get when you use this mask is most likely the AHA breaking down the dead skin cells on the topmost layer.

BHA – beta hydroxy acids. Salicylic acid. BHAs will work at the deeper levels of the skin to help with acne and unclog pores.

So together, AHAs and BHAs work well together and complement each other to do the most for your skin! Be sure to read all the instructions and use this at night, because this acidic mask may not be for everyone.

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

Niacinamide, which is just a fancy name for vitamin B3, will strengthen your protective barrier and visibly brighten your skin after a week of use. Zinc works super well with niacinamide and will also refresh your skin and restore its protective functions. I use this every other night, and it really helps my skin feel supported after using so many cosmetic products.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic acid 2% + B5

Hyaluronic acid is everywhere nowadays, and if you don’t have something with hyaluronic acid in your routine, get this! This serum will REALLY hydrate your skin and dig deep to give you that plump, supple look. Honestly a staple, and you can’t go wrong using this in the morning or at night.

The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil

This oil, renowned by Miranda Kerr and Kate Middleton, is packed with omega 3 and 6 acids and some vitamin A, which will be a perfect addition to be a daily support product in your routine. Not completely necessary, but a nice addition that I definitely like using here and there!

Can you tell I love The Ordinary? They just have the most affordable and effective skincare products on the market, and they use all-natural ingredients and aren’t fooling you with false and flashy advertising. I also just love having these lined up along my bathroom shelf… such an aesthetic.

Both my grandmother and mother always told me to moisturize, and just seeing how amazing their skin looks at their ages now inspires me to keep up with skincare sooner rather than later. Your skin is what you wear every single day, and as people say, it’s the window to your body! Along with providing us so many integral functions for our bodies, our skin is reflective of us and our health, and taking care of it is the first step to really appreciating all it does for us. Hopefully, this gave you a little more insight into great skincare products that might help you establish a routine that works for you!
