Welcome back to another Grace’s New Music Roundup! Like every other week, I have listened to Spotify’s “New Music Friday” playlist, and I have ranked my favorite songs. This week’s list contains multiple sad songs… so if you need a good cry, this is the list for you.

“Therefore I Am” by Billie Eilish

I am a fan of most of Billie’s music, and I think she is incredibly talented. I do love this track. However, I think it sounds a lot like some of her previous work. I do wish that she had experimented a bit more with her sound. With that being said, this song is still one of my favorites on this list. It was written by FINNEAS & Billie Eilish.

“Kool” by BENEE

Embarrassingly, I became a fan of BENEE because of TikTok. Many of her songs have gone viral on the social media app. This is one of my favorites out of her newly released tracks. This track is similar to her other upbeat songs. It was written by BENEE, Josh Fountain, and Djeisan Suskov.

“you broke me first” by Tate McRae

This song is not new, but this version is new. I was obsessed with this song when it first came out. This version is slower and contains several beautiful note changes. If you loved the original version of this hit track, you will probably love this version as well. This track was written by Tate McRae, Victoria Zaro, and Blake Harnage.

“Where the Poison Is” by FINNEAS

FINNEAS’ music is always hit-or-miss for me. However, I am obsessed with this track, and it may even be my favorite from this week’s list. This track is a very clear dig at the current President (and his administration) which is one of the many reasons why I love it. It was written by FINNEAS.

“Changes” by Hayd

This may be the saddest song on this week’s list. Like the title suggests, this song is about someone feeling like they have changed, but still feeling like they are missing something. I had never heard of Hayd before, but I absolutely love this track. This sad track was written by Hayd.

“Hold In, Hold On” by Kid Bloom

After you are done crying to the last song, you can immediately boost your mind with this groovy track. This song is the type of song that just gives happy vibes and instantly boosts your mood. This track was written by Lennon Kloser and Luke Niccoli.

“Let Me Feel Low” by Cavetown and Miloe

Like many of the other songs on this list, this track is quite sad. So if you need a new sad song to add to your playlists, this is the one for you. I had never heard of either of these artists before I listened to this song. However, I really enjoy this song, and I think it would be a great track to accompany a good cry. It was written by Cavetown and Bobby Kabeya.

“Problems” by Anne-Marie

This is yet another artist that I was not too familiar with before listening to this track. This track is about a relationship that has its fair share of problems, but the problems are not enough to end the relationship. It was written by Anne-Marie and Jennifer Decilveo.

As always, if you liked these songs, check out the playlist I made titled “new music friday” on my Spotify “glechy.”
