Thanksgiving break is right around the corner, which means a temporary pause from sitting through class and cramming for midterms. A few extra days off are always much needed and allow for some extra self-care and you-time! I love to watch movies with autumn/wintery vibes and dip my toes into some holiday movies once Thanksgiving arrives. Here’s some movies you should definitely watch over the holiday if you want to experience all the cozy, nostalgic feelings this time of year brings.

A classic rom-com, When Harry Met Sally is one of those movies I could watch on repeat. Set in the autumn backdrop of New York City, two college acquaintances meet ten years later and quickly become friends, while also vowing to remain platonic. It’s a sweet and humorous film that never gets old.

Likely my favorite movie of all time, the 2019 rendition of Little Women is definitley my comfort movie. Not only is the cast amazing, but the setting and details add so much depth and make the film come to life. If you haven’t watched the newest version of Little Women, don’t wait any longer! It’s a must see that always leaves me feeling inspired to write and wishing I could stroll through the cobblestone streets of Boston in the 1800s.
- To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before

Yes, this Netflix original can be a little corny and cliché, but don’t count it out just yet! It follows Lara Jean, who navigates high school, love, and friendships throughout her junior year. Endearing and quite funny, too, it’s an uplifting coming of age film that’s perfect for fall.

While this movie is Christmas-themed rather than fall-themed, I had to include it because it’s a perfect way to kick off holiday movie watching all December long. Love the Coopers focuses on various family members on Christmas day as they travel home for the holiday, do last minute Christmas shopping and cooking, and finally convene for Christmas dinner. While there are plenty of cute and humorous moments sprinkled throughout, this movie is also a drama, so it’s a little more on the serious side. However, it’s definitely one of my favorite Christmas movies that always leaves me in the holiday spirit.
