I’ve been at the edge of the cliff.
I’ve been the toast of the town.
I’ve shared laughs.
I’ve shared fears.
I tell my secrets.
I hope they hear.
I’ve walked away too soon.
I’ve been left behind.
I’ve slept through the daylight.
I’ve watched the night’s moon.
I questioned old friendships.
Many of them have burned me.
I’ve given love
Only to be drained of it.
I ran until I hit the coast.
Familiar faces keep me company when it’s too late.
There isn’t a risk I’m not willing to take.
I’m not an addict, but I have a gambling problem.
The one thing I will always bet on is myself.
So far, I always win.
