Buying presents at Christmas can be stressful. Sometimes you just don’t know what to buy anyone, and as a student, you usually don’t have much money to splash out on everyone. However, there are plenty of beautiful gifts out there that don’t break the bank. So, here are some Christmas pressie ideas under £20!
A beauty bundle
At this time of year, Boots and Superdrug are great places to check out for discounted bundles of makeup, skincare and other pampering products. Soap and Glory, No.7 and Real Techniques are just some of the brands which have plenty of gift sets which any beauty lover will love! As a makeup addict myself, it can be really fun receiving new products I wouldn’t have found otherwise and having a play around with them. And, if you’ve got a Secret Santa you’re struggling to buy for, these bundles are a safe bet!
Books
Call me old fashioned, but there’s nothing nicer than that new book smell as you turn the crisp pages of a brand-new book. Sure, loads of people have phones and kindles to read off of, but there is a real novelty of a new book which I’m sure any avid reader would appreciate. If you wanted to add something onto this present, you could get a personalised bookmark (there are loads on Etsy) to make the present that little more original.
Candles / a wax melt
Candles are a great affordable option. I like to think of them as a 3-in-1 present, as not only do they create a calming and ambient atmosphere when lit, you also get a delicious smell and a decorative jar! Candles do range in price depending on where they’re from, but they all serve these three purposes regardless. Another idea which is a little different is a wax melt set. The wax burners take a small tealight underneath and have a bowl on top for you to put deliciously-smelling wax melts, which work really well at filling the whole room with the scent. The waxes also last quite long, so it’s an excellent alternative to a candle if you’re wanting something a bit different!
Chocolate
And the safest bet of them all, chocolate! Who doesn’t love chocolate? You can get fancy bouquets full of Cadbury or Galaxy bars, or more simply, one of those huge bars from the supermarket is a good value offer near Christmas time. Chocolate is a generic, but-always-good-present! You could also make your own bundle of the recipient’s favourite snacks handpicked by you (not just chocolate, but sweets, drinks, crisps…everything you know they love).
