I have never been the type of person to create New Year’s Resolutions. I personally never understood why people did it, especially because everyone I know who normally makes them ends up giving them up a couple of months later. However, after what a life-challenging year 2020 has been I have decided to put together my own resolutions for the new year to try and strive towards new ways that I can better myself as a person.

Keep Embracing A Healthier Lifestyle

This resolution is a common one that everyone seems to make every year. Although I started along a personal health journey in March of this year, I want to carry this motivation on into the new year. Taking care of myself is so incredibly important, especially with everything that has been going on in my life these last couple of months so I know this resolution is super important for me in 2021.

Stop Comparing Myself to Others

This has been something that I have been guilty of for years. Whether it’s on Instagram, amongst friends and family in my life or random people that I see on campus, I always find myself comparing my life and how I look in relation to them. This has never played a positive role in my life, it has always impacted my personal confidence and is something that I am striving to leave behind in 2020

Express Gratitude Everyday

This is my last resolution and by far the most important for me. This year has made me realize how important it is that I find things that I am grateful for everyday. I often get caught up in my own life, and compared to others struggles mine are minimal. Seeking gratitude, even if it’s about something small, is something that I want to make a daily habit in 2021.
