SNAP stands for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and this program provides for more than 9.5 million families. Even before the pandemic, a lot of low-income, disabled, and elderly people were struggling to have enough money to live and eat. Essentially, if you are eligible and have been approved to receive the benefit, you would be issued an EBT card. This card will be automatically refilled at its appropriate time. When it is ready to be used, you can purchase groceries to its set limit. It must be real groceries, so no nonfood items or alcohol can be bought with the card. Only items like meat, bread, dairy, fruit, and vegetables.Â
