We all know and love the core four: New York, London, Paris and Milan. There is nothing more luxurious than walking down Fifth Avenue, Bond Street, Avenue Montaigne or Via Monte Napoleone. The designers in these cities are not the people who are just ahead of the trends, they are the ones who make them.
I have been lucky enough to travel to each one of these cities and soak in all of the breathtaking window displays, the towering shoe departments and even touch the beautiful leather bags.

I am going to be a little biased about this one because I live in New Jersey. I don’t travel to New York, I just get in the car and go. My love for Fifth Avenue started at the American Girl Store on 5th and 48th when I was a little girl, but I wasn’t done with Fifth Avenue when I grew out of my dolls. Saks Fifth Avenue became my new and final love. I use my fashion experiences in New York as a reference for all of the other capitals in the world. Those other cities do take my breath away, yet nothing is quite like New York City.

I have a lot of regret about my trip to London. I was only able to be there for two days and I should have spent the full 48 hours I was there in Selfridges. This department store was something I have never seen before, looking back, being there feels like a fever dream. London is home to designers like Vivienne Westwood, Stella McCartney and Jimmy Choo and it is very similar to New York when it comes to style. They love their streetwear just as much as we do across the pond.

When I think of heaven, I see two interlocking C’s, a double-breasted tweed coat and set of pearls. Just bury me in the Flagship Chanel boutique on Rue Cambon. I traveled to Paris for my 16th birthday and I had the fashion experience of a lifetime. I still dream about the glass ceilings at Galeries Lafayette and the Champagne at the Louis Vuitton store. The only word I can use to describe Parisian style is classic; everything is very black, white and sleek. They always look put together, and we all have the right to be intimidated by them.

If I am going to be completely honest, Milan was underwhelming. The Duomo di Milano is beautiful and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele made my jaw drop, but I had higher expectations when it comes to style. Don’t get me wrong, the Prada and Fendi stores were great and all, however, I could have just gone to the stores in New York. When it comes to fashion, I just didn’t see anything new.
All four cities were an amazing experience for me, and I will always be grateful for the opportunity I had to experience fashion all around the world.
