As life goes on, I think at some point you will discover that one of the hardest tasks to do is to truly love yourself. It may seem simple, but it is so much more than it sounds. To love yourself means to entirely accept all the flaws, all the ups and downs, and all the things that really make you who you are. This feeling towards yourself can really fluctuate depending on what stage of life you’re in. Here are some tips that can guide toward the path of self-recognition, because it really comes down to the little things.

Write About Yourself

Try to start a journal entailing the things you love about yourself. Don’t forget to keep up with it, you can even add little things like the highlights of your week or day.

Find Some Time for You

Most of the time, you forget to put yourself first. So, make time in your schedule where YOU are the main priority. Whatever that may mean to you, make it happen!

Create Something

It is always important to have something to hold or to look at that really represents who you are. It could be a photo album or a painted pair of shoes – just be creative and make something that speaks to your character.

Pursue Your Passions

Always make time for the things you love to do. Whether it’s something you’ve always loved to do or a new hobby, keep the ball rolling. You deserve to enjoy the things that you have a passion for.

Pamper Yourself

Never forget that you deserve to be pampered like a princess. Head over to the nail salon, buy some face masks, and just let yourself relax. Pampering is all about treating yourself and making yourself feel beautiful inside and out.

Treat Yourself

You deserve to splurge a little bit every once in a while, especially if it brings you self appreciation. Go out and buy that dress or that eyeshadow palette you have been looking at for months, just to prove to yourself you have earned it!
