If you are anything like me, there are a few TV shows that define your personality, and you go back to all the time. No matter if I am doing homework, working out, cooking, or just chilling in bed, the T.V is almost always on. While I like to try out new shows every once in a while, I have a few favorites that I go back to regularly because I cannot get enough of them. If you are in the market to start a new show, here are a few of my recommendations:
- Jane the Virgin
-
While perusing Netflix, I stumbled on this telenovela. Since Netflix said it was a 98% match, I thought I would give it a try. I went in with high expectations, and let me tell you I was NOT disappointed. Telenovelas are known for romance and drama. This show has the telenovela aspects and weaves comedy in there to add to the perfect balance.
- Brooklyn 99
-
Most cop shows like Law and Order, Criminal Minds, Blue Bloods are all super serious. Cross a cop show with a comedic masterpiece, and you get Brooklyn 99. The show follows the NYPD’s 99th precinct, the captain, and the detectives that work there. There are many characters, and there is at least one that you will relate to. The best part: there is a dog.
- New Girl
-
This is a feel-good favorite. If you are in college living with roommates, there are parts of this show that will feel all too relatable. The first time I watched this show, I related to the characters so much. It explores things like job hunts, living with roommates, personal relationships, friendships, and so much more.
- Parks and Recreation
-
I admit that this show starts a little slow but it has a special place in my heart. As a political science major, I started watching this show because it had something to do with my major. While I did learn stuff about my major, I got more comedy out of it, and it is a show that I can refer back to if I want a laugh.
- Grey’s Anatomy
-
At this point, I cannot stop watching. I have invested 17 seasons’ worth of time into this show, and I am determined to stick with it until the end. There are many medical dramas out there, but in my opinion, this is the best one. There is a perfect balance between medical drama and suspense and personal drama.
