There Is SO Much We Haven’t Done Yet

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tampa chapter.

Good Morning! It is a BEAUTIFUL day. Do you know why? Because you have a chance today to do something that you’ve never done before.

As a college student, it’s pretty easy for me to get wrapped up in all of my school work and responsibilities. Even in high school, you probably had those moments where you felt like there is nothing more to life than sitting in an air-conditioned building for 8 hours a day. Or maybe you didn’t. Well, anyway, you might now be a college student with a similar feeling.

High school is four years of your life and college is most likely another four. That is 8 years. 8 out of…a lot of years. Let yourself sit back, take a breath, and think about all of the beautiful parts of life we have yet to experience.

For me, I personally cannot wait until my wedding day. That might be because I love being the center of attention, but still. Wearing a stunning white dress with makeup that makes me feel beautiful, marrying someone who I love enough to want to spend the rest of my life with, having music played that makes me feel like I’m in a movie while I’m standing on a beach somewhere beautiful…yeah, my standards are set pretty high, but it doesn’t hurt to dream, right?

There are so many feelings that we haven’t felt yet. The feeling of finding out that you’re going to have a baby and the feeling of holding that baby in your arms for the first time. The feeling of watching your children open their gifts on Christmas, seeing them feel that magic that you felt on Christmas at their age.

Experiencing new cities and countries with your friends, or with your family, and your legs being so tired from all of the exploring you’ve done all day that you can barely walk.

Starting a new job that makes you realize that all of your hard work is finally paying off.

Growing old with the people you love most and being able to look back and laugh at all of the mistakes and smile at all of the memories.

According to my grandmother, it really DOES all go by in a blink of an eye. So, try something today that you’ve never done before. There is so much that we have yet to see, feel, and do. Get excited.
