HC Stonehill Answers: What is something that made you smile this past week?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Stonehill chapter.

Our Her Campus chapter decided to channel some positive vibes and share what made us smile this past week!

Erin: It was my dad’s birthday this past weekend, so I gave him a call to wish him a happy birthday and it was so nice to talk to my parents for a little while! Talking to my dad is always so calming and my mom always makes me laugh.

Rachel: I went skiing last weekend so that was a nice way to go outside and have fun with my family. We got there early so we could maximize our time on the mountain.

Emma C: I went on a hike with my dad this weekend! It was really nice to take a break from everything and get to enjoy nature and spend some quality time with him.

Christy B: I read two books that have been on my list for a while and had fun talking about them with my friend. My friend bought me a set of Red Bubble stickers, which was unexpected, and now they are happily on my laptop! My roommate and I started a new show, so it’s been fun at night watching it with her.

Elizabeth: What gave me joy recently and continues to bring me joy is hearing the 2-year-old I nanny laugh when she is having fun with me. It makes me happy that I can bring her joy while her parents work and that she is getting used to being around me for long periods of time. Being with her makes me forget about everything I have going on with school and teaches me to enjoy the simple things in life.

Julia: I went home this weekend and was able to see my parents, pet my dog, and get a nice home-cooked meal! It was much needed after a stressful week of school.

Emerson: Last Thursday I spent my 21st birthday in Boston getting cute drinks and staying at a super cool rock n roll themed hotel. It was the most fun way to kick off my 21st year.

Grace: Something that made me happy this past week was on Friday night I went sledding on the Hill. It was snowing and I got to see some of my friends in a safe manner who I don’t get to see on campus regularly. It was a nice night and it felt like I was completely a rite of passage as a Stonehill student.

Meg: My grandparents called me yesterday and drove up to campus to bring my roommate and I sandwiches! How cute right?

Caroline: I was able to go home yesterday and see some of my cousins, and extended family who I have not seen in a while.

Marisa: I got to see my dog last weekend! It was so nice of my parents to stop by, and I got to see them as well! Walking around campus with my family made me smile so much! I got to show my dog off to all my friends too, which was so nice. I love being able to see my family whenever I get a chance while I’m away at school. It was a nice break from my week of homework.

Natalie: I spent time at home relaxing with my kitten, and I was also able to spend time with my parents. Spending time with my family and my kitten always makes me feel happy and more at peace. My kitten, Luna, is still in her crazy and energetic kitten phase, so she never fails to make me laugh. Whenever I’m having a bad day, I can always count on Luna to make me laugh and smile!

Emma Mac: My birthday was last Friday and I got the sweetest card from my Grammy who I haven’t been able to see for a while!

Justine: I was able to see my boyfriend and watch some beautiful beach sunsets. The ocean is so quiet and peaceful, so it was a nice break from the stress of school! I have been valuing time with the people I care about lately, so I had a great weekend.

Liv M: It was my mom’s birthday this past weekend so it was fun to go home and see my family and my dogs!

Abby A: I was able to spend more time with my teammates finally because we are all in different dorms.

Sam: I have been watching a new TV show recently called Hospital Playlist, which has been so much fun for me to watch! It’s funny, heartwarming, and can sometimes be emotional, but it has been so much fun to watch on Netflix.

Corinne: Celebrating my friend’s birthday with dinner with my friends!

Ainslee: I was able to finally get together with my friends for Bachelor night!

Kelly L: I went shopping at Old Navy and bought new workout clothes! I love some retail therapy.

Maya: I was able to quarantine at my house on the cape last week and enjoy being in a different and beautiful space!

Julia D: My roommates and I made a gourmet meal with chicken cutlets, rice, and brussel sprouts for us after practice, and it came out super bomb!
