Let’s be honest: Life’s too short for the same coffee order at the same coffee shop. But it’s officially November, so it’s time for a new month and a new spot! Whether you’re a matcha enthusiast, an iced coffee loyalist, or someone who orders based on how cute the cup looks, another cafĂ© is always waiting to become your new favorite. Here’s your guide to the next spots worth sipping on.

My first recommendation is Nook Coffee Bar! With locations in Torrance, Costa Mesa, and Rancho Cucamonga, the Nook is a perfect spot to visit this fall. Its Torrance location, the closest to UCLA, strikes a perfect balance between cozy and minimalist. With a clean interior and greenery scattered throughout, it’s a place where you can enjoy an amazing drink, catch up with friends and family, or simply savor a slow morning. But let’s get to the real reason we’re here: the drinks! While the atmosphere might draw you in, the menu is what can turn a first visit into a new favorite.

When going to the Nook, here are the must-haves. First up is the Island Matcha, which combines coconut and macadamia syrup to add a little tropical twist to your classic matcha. It’s smooth and rich in taste, and it’s also perfect for our vegan friends!

If you’re more of a coffee person, their signature Spanish Latte will definitely hit the spot. It’s a personal favorite of mine, made with condensed milk, cinnamon, and roasted hazelnut syrup. It’s the perfect cozy drink, especially as we enter the rainy season. The combination of sweetness and warmth is hard to beat!

My second recommendation (and personal favorite) is Yeems Coffee in the South Bay. If you’re someone who loves trying unique lattes and matcha combinations, this spot deserves a place on your list. It’s not as minimalist as the Nook, but it’s just as cozy. Yeems has a different character with charming decorations, greenery, and inviting seating. It’s the perfect place to grab a drink and study — something we all look for as college students.

But, of course, we can’t forget about the drinks! Their matchas are a must-try. Sometimes, finding the perfect matcha can be difficult. You want something rich, flavorful, and creamy, and Yeems delivers just that. Whether you go for their Strawberry Matcha or Vienna Matcha (my two faves), you’re in for a treat.

The two drinks offer different experiences: one brings a fruity sweetness, while the other is creamier and smoother. But if neither sounds like your preference, Yeems has plenty of coffee and matcha options to choose from, so I’ll let you make the decision!

From Nook Coffee Bar to Yeems Coffee, there are so many more shops waiting to be discovered. Let this be the beginning of your new coffee spot search, but don’t stop exploring. Try something new, explore the city, and take a few sips along the way. And don’t forget to share your finds!
