This past weekend was full of new and exciting things. I went to Canada for the first time, went to a club, saw a concert, booked a hotel, and traveled to a different country with two of my friends.
Crazy things.
Things that might seem so normal to some people, but to me, they made for a weekend I will never forget.
But the highlight of it all? I got to see one of my absolute favorite artists ever, Sienna Spiro!
And let me tell you, she was everything I imagined and more.
I have loved Sienna Spiro and her music for a while now. There is just something about her voice and the emotion behind every song that makes you want to stop whatever you’re doing and listen. Her music is the kind you can scream at the top of your lungs in the car or listen to when you just need a good cry.
So, getting to hear those songs live was something special.
From the moment she stepped on stage, I was in awe. Her voice was absolutely incredible, and somehow, she sounded even better in person. I don’t think I stopped smiling the entire night, except for the moments when I was trying not to cry.
There is something so surreal about hearing an artist you’ve listened to countless times actually standing right in front of you. Songs that I’ve played over and over again were suddenly being performed live, and I got to experience every second of it.
I sang, I smiled, I cried, and I took probably way too many pictures and videos.
And I wouldn’t change a thing.
Beyond the concert itself, this weekend was about so much more. It was about trying new things, going somewhere I’d never been before, and making memories with two of my friends. We packed our bags, crossed the border, and made an entire adventure out of seeing someone whose music means so much to me.
Sometimes, I get so caught up in my everyday routine of classes, homework, work, and everything else going on that I forget how important it is to do things simply because they make me happy.
This weekend was a reminder of that.
I have so many pictures and videos from the trip, all filled with smiles, tears, laughter, and so much love. But even with all those pictures, I don’t think any of them could fully capture how happy I was.
It was one of those weekends that I wish I could go back and experience all over again.
And while I might be back to reality, sitting in class and catching up on assignments, a little part of me is still standing in that crowd, singing along to Sienna Spiro.
A weekend full of firsts, unforgettable memories, and music I love.
I couldn’t have asked for anything better.
