DIBS Beauty Pop-Ups Have Landed In Texas, Just In Time For The Ulta Beauty Campus Tour

Howdy, Texas! On Oct. 19, DIBS brought their pop-up (and tons of goodies) to the home of the Longhorns, in parallel with the Ulta Beauty Campus Tour. DIBS is showing out to college students and beauty enthusiasts in more ways than one, from joining the fun at the Ulta Beauty Campus Tour to bringing their own immersive experience to multiple hotspots around Texas. Ready for a beauty bag restock? Here’s everything you need to know.

Desert Island Beauty Status (DIBS Beauty for short) was founded back in 2021 by influencer (and Texas native) Courtney Shields alongside business partner Jeff Lee. With the clean girl aesthetic just beginning to emerge around this time, Shields wanted a brand that was just as clean on the ingredient side as it was visually. For DIBS Beauty, simplicity is key. It’s vegan, cruelty and talc free, and designed to bring your makeup routine down from 12 steps to two.

We love a product that’s running-late-for-your-8 a.m.-friendly.

Outside their local Ulta Beauty store, UT Austin students were able to visit a DIBS Beauty truck on Oct. 19 for an immersive experience. Visitors received complimentary touch-ups using DIBS’s beloved Duo Stick, and after stocking up on some products in-store, students were also able to spin a wheel to see what special prize they got to take home from the event. Attendees then got to cool down from the Texas heat with some refreshing lemonade and take advantage of some fun photo moments. Last but not least, while students waited in line, they could take part in interactive trivia interviews for the chance to win even more surprise giveaways.

“DIBS was born in Austin, and we’ve supported college communities around Texas every year since our launch, so this tour is truly a homecoming for us!” Jeff Lee, co-founder and CEO of DIBS Beauty, tells Her Campus. “It’s the perfect kickoff for our 50-state tour in our very own DIBS truck, and we’ve spent the year preparing to give our communities exclusive experiences, merch and other special moments.” Lee says there’s been so much energy around the truck, that they’ve increased the number of stops they’re making around each college by five times. “One of the most important things that Her Campus does is give college students a way to be a part of the brands they admire, and offer them that exclusive experience,” Lee says. “It means so much to us to be able to join them and Ulta Beauty in this way!”

While campus visits are at the heart of this tour, DIBS will be making stops outside local businesses, too. You may have spotted them hanging out outside of Jo’s Coffee or Amy’s Ice Cream early on Oct. 19.

If you’re not necessarily in the UT Austin area, don’t worry. Austin is far from the only stop DIBS and Ulta Beauty will be making on their Texas tour. Next, on Wednesday, Oct. 21, DIBS will be kicking off the first of their pop-ups in San Marcos, Texas, bright and early at Buc-ees, and heading to Texas State University soon after with the Ulta Beauty Campus Tour.

If you’re a college student at Texas State, Texas Southern, or Texas A&M, you’ll be able to catch DIBS on your campus or in your community before the month is over. If you’re a local living in San Marcos, Houston, or College Station, keep an eye on the DIBS Beauty Instagram page for where they’ll be next. Just like in Austin, the DIBS truck will be making stops outside of small businesses and local Ulta stores as well as college campuses for the Ulta Beauty Campus Tour, so there’ll be plenty of chances for you and your beauty-loving friends to snag some goodies. See you there!
