When it comes to diets and healthy eating, I’ve tried it all. Keto, weight watchers, intermediate fasting, you name it. I’ve discovered that if you’re trying to lose weight, not only should you eat healthily but have a healthy lifestyle and daily routine.  Working out five days a week, drinking a lot of water, getting enough sleep, etc. If you’re looking to lose weight for any reason at all, here are a couple of meal and snack ideas for a low-calorie count.

10 am -12 pm

Breakfast

1 cup of hot green tea

2 eggs with pepper with pepper

2 pieces of turkey bacon

Iced coffee- Nothing crazy like whipped cream, syrup, etc. I would suggest an iced coffee with almond milk.

OR

Replace the eggs and turkey bacon with this smoothie.

Smoothie- 1 cup of spinach, 1 and 1/2 cup almond milk, 1 cup frozen fruit, 1 scoop of protein powder, and 1 tablespoon almond butter.

2-4 pm

Snack

3/4 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt (Chobani)

1/4 sugar-free granola (Kind Granola)

1/2 Fruit- Either strawberries or Banana

6-8 pm

Dinner

6 oz of lean meat- grilled chicken or turkey. I lived off of trader joes meatballs and chicken chili lime burgers. Along with homemade turkey and spinach burgers. (3 meatballs 1 chicken chili lime burger/turkey and spinach burger)

1 cup of cauliflower rice with pepper and olive oil

1 cup of vegetables with olive oil and pepper- green beans, broccoli, zucchini, etc.

OR

6 oz Salmon

1 Sweet potato

1 Cup vegetables with olive and pepper.

OR

Salad- 5 oz grilled chicken, romaine, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, chickpeas, olives and a light dressing. Dressing suggestions

-Olive oil and vinegar

-Trader Joe’s green goddess dressing

-Homemade Cilantro Avocado

-Balsamic Vinaigrette

You’ll feel hungry the first couple of days or weeks after sticking to this meal plan but it’s important to remember that when you’re hungry and you choose not to eat your body starts to eat its own fat. It may be hard to follow this meal plan, but remember that it isn’t forever.  Whenever you feel hungry, drink a lot of water.  If you’re still feeling unsatisfied and craving an extra snack, add an apple or celery and carrots sometime throughout the day!

If you’re just looking for healthier snack ideas you NEED to try the pop corners flourish veggie crisps. They will satisfy your salty cravings and won’t leave you feeling guilty. The ingredients and nutrition label left me shocked, if you don’t believe me, see for yourself!
