Halloween is such an exciting time of year for people in college. Yeah, kids can gotrick-or-treating and dress up as their favorite TV show characters, but for young adults in
college, it is the time of year for creative expression and for you to be something “niche”. As this
is my first Halloween that I am dressing up for since starting college, I feel a bit behind. Here are
some ideas and costumes I hope to see for people who may not know what to do or have more
than one year left:
Clue board game Characters: Miss Scarlett, Colonel Mustard, Mrs. White, Mr. Green,
Mrs. Peacock, Professor Plum.
This costume would be so good for a group of people, and it is something I have never
seen before. This was one of my favorite board games growing up, too. Especially if you live in
a suite of six people or your friend group is six people, this can be a lot of fun, and there are
many different ways you can dress these characters.
Pillsbury Dough Boy: This is a really cool
idea for solo costumes or if a group wants to be like
different desserts, maybe?
Smokey the Bear: So cute for a little solo fit.
Pink Panther: Another fun solo costume.
Lazy Town Stephanie: This could be a really
neat and creative solo or even group costume; having
a group of friends dress up as Lazy Town characters.
Harry Potter Professors: Dolores Umbridge,
Sybill Trelawney, Severus Snape, Mad-Eye Moody,
Gilderoy Lockhart, etc.
This could be a good idea for a group costume,
or even solo. Picking one of your favorite professors to dress up as rather than going as students
can make the costume more unique.
No matter what you dress up as for Halloween, safety should always come first. Wear
something that makes you feel comfortable and confident, and express yourself without worrying
about judgment. Most importantly, stick with your friends, be aware of your surroundings, and
have fun!
