THINGS I’M LOVING LATELY

Now that I’ve finally gotten back into the swing of things at college and have settled into my junior year, I have noticed there are some things that are becoming staples in my everyday life. All these staples combined offer a quick glimpse into what I’m into right now and the little things that help make up who I am.

Google Calendar

I’ve never had an organizational system that felt quite right regarding upcoming tasks or events until I gave Google Calendar a try. I started using Google Calendar a month ago, and I have found it to be an incredibly simple way to keep my life in order. This has been my busiest semester yet with classes, schoolwork, club meetings, club events and work, so having a system I can rely on is very important. I also enjoy using Google Sheets to keep track of deadlines for my assignments.

Lighting candles

Every year during the fall and winter months, I seem to constantly have a candle burning. Sometimes I light a traditional flame, but I’ve also been loving using my candle warmer. I love a cozy fall scent in my apartment as I’m cleaning, taking a bath or doing schoolwork.

Starbucks Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai

After moving back to Morgantown for college every year, I always count the days until Starbucks releases their fall drinks. I tried the pumpkin cream chai for the first time last fall and instantly fell in love. So, safe to say I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my trips to Starbucks for the past couple of months.

Abbott Elementary

The TV show I’ve been watching for the past couple of months has been Abbott Elementary. This show has quickly become one of my favorite sitcoms/mockumentaries. Abbott Elementary is centered around teachers who work at a K-8 school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It’s not only filled with humor but also touches on serious topics and includes meaningful character development. I recommend that you give it a watch!

Comfort Owala Water Bottle

Unfortunately, I’m the type of person who typically doesn’t enjoy drinking water. One of the only things that motivates me to drink water throughout the day is to consistently carry around a reusable water bottle, which in my case is an Owala. I sometimes suffer from an “out of sight, out of mind” mentality. Keeping it with me at all times has been really helpful since I’m trying to stay more hydrated.

Football Games and Tailgating

This is the first year where I can say I am truly going to miss college football season. During my first two years at WVU, I only attended a handful of games because I never really enjoyed the environment. I’m not sure what changed for me this year, but I have thoroughly enjoyed tailgating and being in the stands during the games. I think part of this may be because I am now an upperclassman, which makes me feel more connected to WVU because I’ve finally settled into the Mountaineer culture.

Isabel is a sophomore at WVU and she is majoring in communication. Her goals after college are to become a flight attendant and travel. In her free time, Isabel enjoys watching movies, keeping up with current media, and spending time with family and friends.
