Whether looking for a thrilling story, searching for background noise, or trying to pass the hours in a long road trip adventure true crime stories on YouTube allow listeners to follow stories that would otherwise go untold. Below is a list of the top three true-crime YouTubers that keep their audiences captivated with new and interactive storytelling techniques.

1. Bailey Sarian

Bailey Sarian turns true crime into a more lighthearted experience with her YouTube videos. As an experienced makeup guru on YouTube, Sarian allows her viewers to watch her do her makeup while she talks about the research she has done on multiple true-crime cases. She does not do this to be rude or insensitive to the stories she tells but does this to keep herself and her audience busy while she tells the stories. She puts in a lot of effort and research into these videos as well as takes fan suggestions as to what they want to see. She calls it “Murder, Mystery, and Makeup Monday’s” and the videos, on average, last 20 to 60 minutes. I highly recommend this to anyone who has an interest in a creative spin on true crime and makeup!

2. Mr. Ballen

Mr. Ballen not only discusses true crime stories but also horror and Missing 411 cases. His true-crime cases consist of videos like “three places people shouldn’t have gone and gone anyway,” “three pictures with disturbing backgrounds,” and more. His horror videos are more about singular events and people facing scary experiences thought to be ghosts or other paranormal entities. The last series of videos, Missing 411, is about stories where people randomly disappear and end up in impossible places. These videos range from 10 to 25 minutes, on average, and the way he portrays the stories are always effective!

3. Kendall Raye

Kendall Raye is probably the best true-crime YouTuber simply because of her efforts. While Bailey Sarian and Mr. Ballen allow their audience the chance to hear the story- Kendall allows her audience to be a part of it. She has held multiple fundraisers and allowed her merchandise brands to give between 20% to 100% of profits to the families of those affected. She also allows the family members of more recent events to send in videos and ask for help from her audience on her channel. She delivers an empathetic, understanding, and fantastic way of relaying the stories of true crime happening in the world. Her videos range from 20-40 minutes. As a bonus, she also features some of her dogs and cats which is always appreciated!
