Laundry Day is Underrated

No, I am not going to talk about the best day to do laundry but about a wonderful hidden gem in music today: Laundry Day, a pop rock band formed in 2017. The band consists of members Jude, Sawyer, Henry P and Henry W, who all met at Beacon Highschool in Manhattan, New York. They used to be a 5 member band but original member and drummer Etai left in 2024. Sawyer, who originally was just vocals and guitar, became the main drummer still acing those vocals while drumming though.

The first song I ever heard by Laundry Day was Lavender from their 2018 EP Light Up Shoes a couple of years ago when a friend of mine put it on in the car. Throughout the years I’ve continued to rediscover them and I was drawn to songs from their last album EARWORM, released in 2025. Songs like “SUPERMODEL”, “LITTLE MISS JADED” and “R U READY?” are addictive, but their song “MEDICINE” might be my overall favorite.

They have been recognized by some of the greats like Drake and BROCKHAMPTON’s Kevin Abstract. In the past they’ve opened up for Ed Sheeran and Teezo Touchdown who they actually have a song with named “HOMEGIRL (feat. Teezo Touchdown)”. They are also recognized for songs like “Crazy, Stupid, Love”, “Other Side of the World”, and “FRIENDS”, which you might know.

They recently just announced their new album 4×4 with a fitting four tracks, including their newly released single, “I WANNA LOVE YOU BABE”, which is another catchy track. It’s set to release October 23rd of this year which will give fans about 7 days before the end of their current tour to memorize all the lyrics.

The crazy thing about Laundry Day is that they seem to always be on tour. On September 10th of this year they started their latest tour, the Larger Than Life Tour, in Hamden, Connecticut, and ends in Brooklyn, New York on October 30th. That’s 24 cities in just under 2 months, which is insane.

I’m seeing them on October 16th in DC, which is when this article will be posted and I’m so so excited. This tour especially is a mix of their old and new stuff, their “eras tour” if you will. I hope this article will have convinced you to give them a listen and appreciate their unique sounds and playful marketing as I know I have.

You can see her going to the workout classes offered at the FAC with her roommates or sitting in the Fernandez Center catching up on homework. Waiting for her daily Starbucks order or supporting her friends in theater & dance.

Long story short, Sam is a dedicated student who wishes to better her writing with writing about what she loves, enjoys and knows. She hopes that others can read her articles and discover new music or movies.
