SHEIN is not the greatest place to shop. Although they do have cheaper options, so do many other retailers. For various environmental and child labor reasons, I have chosen to stop shopping at SHEIN. Here are some places I have turned to for cheap, but good quality clothes. These options might not be as cheap as SHEIN, but that is the price I choose to pay to make the world a better place. And trust me— I’m not above it as I have definitely considered, as a broke college student, shopping at SHEIN. Here are some options I’ve been turning to recently:
1. Edikted
I just bought most of my Halloween costumes from here, along with some cute sets. I have found the quality of Edikted to be so much better than SHEIN. I’ve had clothes from Edikted since high school that have stood the test of time. They have constant sales and the price is definitely worth it for the quality. Also — always so cute and trendy.
2. Depop
Depop is basically online thrifting. You can find so many brand name clothes on there for so much lower than the original selling price. Every seller is different, but a lot of the time, clothes will be lightly used and might even still have tags on. Depop is such an affordable, environmentally friendly way to shop. You can also turn a profit from clothes you might not wear anymore.
3. Aerie
Aerie is so underrated, especially with all of their online sales. Going into fall, Aerie has some super cute and cozy fall clothes. I am planning on treating myself to a fresh set of PJs just for fall. Their prices are so low for the quality. Aerie’s sweat sets will last forever, and they have such cute and comfortable options for lounging.
4. Brandy Melville
Probably around half of my closet consists of clothes from Brandy Melville. Brandy’s prices and sizes have stayed consistent for years. I have had some tops for over four years that I still wear on a weekly basis. They have some super comfortable, affordable, and cute basics. I love their prices, too. Their tank tops usually go for $18, and their T-shirts for usually $25, which is super cheap compared to so many other places.
