The past month and a half has been nonstop with school, work, clubs, and fun events on campus. Fall break came at the best time, and we definitely took full advantage of this nice time off.

Friday:

To kick off the start of fall break, we had a girls’ movie night. In order to make this the best girls’ night, we first decided to go to Trader Joe’s and Market Basket to stock up on some of our favorite snacks with our friends Abie and Bailey. We got the amazing Chili and Lime Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips, salsa, guacamole, vanilla wafer sticks, and of course we couldn’t leave without the Sour Scandinavian Swimmers. After we got back from our shopping trip, we got into our cozy PJs and watched Knives Out. This was truly the best way to start fall break with the girls!

Saturday:

Saturday was our big adventure day in Boston! We started off by driving into the city, making our first stop of the day in the North End. We walked along the Freedom Trail for a while and had to make a pit stop by Paul Revere’s house. The weather was perfect; the sun was shining, and the temperature was perfect; not too cold, but not too hot: the perfect fall weather! After a beautiful walk around the North End, we stopped by Boston’s Hyrox to cheer on our friend Kayla and her boyfriend Jackson as they raced! This event was something we had never seen before, with eight different stations running a 1k after each one. We were so happy to go cheer on our superhuman friends! They worked so hard, and it was so amazing to see them cross the finish line!

Sunday:

On Sunday, I (Nicole) went to Newburyport to see my cousin, Kate. Newburyport was doing its Fall Harvest Festival, so we spent the day walking around downtown shopping and enjoying the beautiful fall weather. We even stopped by the Goat, a restaurant right on the water in Newburyport that currently has the entire restaurant all decked out for Halloween, purple lights on the ceiling, big skeletons, ghosts, and more! It’s definitely something I would check out if you’re in the area! For brunch, I got the Bernie’s, which is an omelet with avocado, tomatoes, and cheese, served with fries and toast. It was so amazing; 10/10 would recommend it.

I (Ailish) was finally able to get around to some chores that I’ve so graciously been putting off. I started off by doing a whole reset of my room with vacuuming, dishes, and the dreadful task of laundry. After that, I was already in a locked-in mood, so I went to the library and was able to knock out some assignments I have coming up to allow for a less stressful week for me.

Monday

Monday was the perfect reset day. We did our homework, meal prepped, went to the gym, cleaned, and relaxed. Honestly, the day off from school today was much needed; we were both able to catch up on much-needed rest and homework. After we did some homework, we decided to clean the room; we washed the floors, cleaned the bathroom, and washed our sheets- a full reset to the week! We think that nothing feels better than the feeling after you deep clean your room. I (Nicole) went to spin class with Seth! It was such a fun class, and I am so glad I went. Everyone should definitely go take his class; it’s amazing!

Tuesday

With it being the last day, we both decided to have a chill day of relaxing before the upcoming week would start. I (Ailish) did some last-minute tasks like nails and applying for grad school (scary), while Nicole was able to get some homework done. We both decided to end our night with a movie together again, our new favorite movie, Knives Out.

This fall break was just what we both needed. While it went by fast, we feel well rested and ready to take on the next few weeks of senior year!
