Are you struggling to decide what Halloween themed movies to watch? Are you also, perhaps, struggling to decide what Halloween snacks to eat before it’s time for turkey and Christmas cookies? Well luckily for you, I have a list of Halloween movies with corresponding snack recommendations right here for you!

  1. Scary Godmother: Halloween Spooktakular

While the animation for this scary good classic hasn’t held up amazingly well, the story and nostalgia more than make up for it. Personally, I believe that this movie should be viewed while enjoying candy corn and popcorn balls! Nostalgia filled snacks for a nostalgia filled movie!

  1. Hocus Pocus

I am specifically talking about the first one for this, because I hated the second one. Hocus Pocus is a must watch for every Halloween season, everything from the Sanderson Sisters to Binx reuniting with his sister helps bring this time of year to life! Hocus Pocus is best paired with warm cinnamon sugar apple donuts and salted pretzels. A little sweet and a little salty, the perfect blend for this movie!

  1. Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

Based on the book series of the same name, this movie is the perfect way to dip your toes into your yearly dose of horror! It’s the first PG13 movie on this list, to help ease you into the scary picks coming up. To help with the scarier transition, I suggest witchfinger cookies, the spooky take on ladyfingers!

  1. A Nightmare on Elm Street

The movie that kicked off the nine movie franchise is an absolute MUST for the yearly rewatch list. If you want to have a movie marathon, it certainly provides the perfect stepping stone. Whether you’re just watching the first movie, or starting a marathon, gummy eyeballs and skull pizza bites are the way to go!

  1. The Exorcist

The Exorcist is widely considered one the scariest horror movies ever made, which means it is practically required by law to watch it during Halloween season. Now, personally I’d say you should watch it on Halloween night as the perfect way to wrap up Halloween. So you might as well enjoy the movie with whatever you managed to scare up while trick or treating!

Of course there’s hundreds of movies to watch and delicious treats to eat, but this list is a good way to help narrow things down if you’re feeling lost. Plenty of classics and personal favorites didn’t make the cut, but deserve a brief mention so in no particular order: A Nightmare Before Christmas, Halloweentown (1 & 2), The Friday the 13th franchise (another marathon!) and Monster House.
