The Best Hair Places In Downtown State College

Who doesn’t love a blowout? Here are three amazing places in downtown State College to get your hair done.

Designer’s Den Salon & Spa

Designer’s Den Salon & Spa did a phenomenal job with my hair. I am a girl with extremely long and thick hair, and I can always benefit from a blowout. Designer’s Den Salon & Spa offers so many services with extremely professional employees.

My thick hair always puts hair places to the test, and Designer’s Den definitely delivered. I would recommend them to anyone in the State College area and would continue to go back.

As a sophomore without a car, the location of this salon is extremely convenient for me to walk to. It can sometimes be difficult to find a salon that knows how to work with thick hair, but they exceeded my expectations and left me looking amazing.

I also love that they offer a variety of services, making it easy to return for different hair and beauty needs. I personally have gone here for waxing services and was also extremely pleased with my results.

Looks Hair Design & Spa

This is another place I would highly recommend. I personally went to Looks Hair Design & Spa last January for a blowout, and my hair held up beautifully.

My blowout stayed in place for nine days and looked great. I got this blowout during my rush process, and many girls who rushed me asked where I got my hair done or if I did it myself. It was a great compliment to receive, but the credit needs to be given to this salon.

One of my friends also went here for a haircut and loved the way it turned out. We both have extremely different hair types, and the staff was able to handle both of our textures very well.

One thing to note about Looks Hair Design & Spa is that the service is on the more expensive side, but that being said, it preserved itself so well that I feel I got my money’s worth and would definitely visit again. For location purposes, just like Designer’s Den Salon & Spa, this salon is also at the heart of downtown right on East Calder Way.

Top

Top is my personal favorite hair place in the State College area. Being located on Beaver Avenue makes it extremely convenient for me, as I currently live downtown, but even last year it was still central to where I was living in the dorms.

I love the way my hair is treated at Top, and I feel that they are quick while still paying attention to detail. I am the kind of person who loves to get my hair done frequently, and not only does Top kill it every time, but they are also a much more affordable salon than the two above.

I just got my hair done here for Whiteout, and I got many compliments on the curls and how good it looked. I also love how well it has lasted, as my hair still looks great on the Monday after, still having bouncy curls. Ultimately, I couldn’t recommend a place more and love the way the staff at Top handle my thick hair, always leaving me feeling confident.

There are so many options for those who are looking for hair services in the State College area, and hopefully this list helps you narrow down the options.
