It is firmly October now, we are trudging our way through week four, and the temperature has decided to turn arctic as a final kick in the teeth. Mood may be low and stress levels may be high, but I come to you as the ultimate authority on all things cozy and comfortable to say good times will come again, and here are some TV show episodes that are going to help get you there!

New Girl
Every season (except season five), New Girl does a Thanksgiving episode. Yes, we’re in England, however, can we not enjoy a fun, cozy, turkey-filled episode every now and then to lift our spirits? There is usually an ‘out-of-loft’ character present in these episodes to add an extra layer of chaos, but all you have to do is sit back, drink your hot chocolate, and be grateful you aren’t experiencing the cortisol levels Jess is in any given episode.
Watch – S1E6, S2E8, S3E10, S4E9, and S6E7
My Favourite – Thanksgiving III (S3)
Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Perhaps the most famous and most loved of all B99 episodes, it would be remiss of me to write this article and not highlight the Halloween Heist episodes! In these dark times we all just need a good laugh, and do you know, maybe even a happy cry, and I promise you will get both of these with B99!
Watch – S1E6, S2E4, S3E5, S4E5, S5E4, S6E16, S7E11, S8E9, and S8E10.
My Favourite – HalloVeen (S5) iykyk!
Criminal Minds
There are a few Halloween episodes throughout criminal minds, and I want to focus on ‘In The Blood’ because of the non-case scenes! Penelope hosts a dia de los muertos celebration for the team, and we get to see them all outside of the BAU as a team, and as a family. We get a beautiful scene that will work wonders for the long term fans as they reminisce and remember those lost.
Watch – S9E6
Honorable Mention – Season one in general has the most amazing autumnal vibes and colours. It just feels cozy (or as a cozy as a serial killer tv show can be!)
Pretty Little Liars
We all remember where we were when we watched the Halloween train episode for the first. We got Aria’s very suspicious -A on the window, everyone slaying the house boots down in their costumes, and potentially my favourite line in the whole show: ‘You don’t wanna know, Noel!’. Truly revolutionary television!
Watch – S3E13
Favourite Costume – Aria 🤫
Adults
In my new favourite sitcom, a true representation of Gen Z, Billie tries to cook a roast chicken for her older boyfriend, her friend group, and Julia Fox. Whilst not a strictly holiday or autumn episode, you can imagine the thanksgiving/christmas vibes of the episode, and I promise you will not stop laughing, and yearning…
Watch – S1E6
Favourite Outfit – Antons chaps

Start here, but I implore you to watch all of these shows all the way through, I promise you won’t be able to stay stuck in the rainy blues when you can escape to Portland, Rosewood, or Quantico!
