3 Albums, 3 Versions Of Clairo

If there’s one thing to know about me, it’s that I love Clairo. I first got into her music when she dropped her debut album, Immunity, in 2019, and I’ve been a massive fan ever since.

Over the years, I’ve loved seeing how her music has changed with each new release. From Immunity to Sling to Charm, each album has its own sound, and I love all three for completely different reasons.

Clairo’s first album, Immunity, came out in 2019, and it’s probably the one that most people know her for. It has that classic indie pop sound that I adore, especially in songs like “Bags” and “Sofia.”

This album just feels so nostalgic to me. Maybe it’s because I’ve been listening to it for so long, but it always reminds me of when I first discovered her music. Immunity is the perfect album to put on when I want something familiar, and it’s one I always find myself coming back to.

Then, in 2021, Clairo released Sling, which was a pretty big change from her first album. Instead of the upbeat songs on Immunity, this album has a much softer, slower sound.

I feel like Sling is one of those albums you have to listen to a few times to really appreciate. Songs like “Amoeba” and “Blouse” are so different from her earlier music, but that’s what I like about them.

It’s definitely more of a rainy day album, and I think it shows a much more personal side of Clairo. While it took me a little longer to get into, I’ve grown to love it just as much as her other music.

Last but not least, Clairo released Charm in 2024. Out of all three albums, I think this one might just be my favorite.

I absolutely love the vintage sound, especially in songs like “Juna” and “Sexy to Someone.” They’re so catchy but don’t sound like your typical pop songs. I like to listen to this album while I’m getting ready or walking around with my headphones on. I could honestly listen to this album all day and never get tired of it.

I think one of my favorite things about being a Clairo fan for so long is getting to hear how much her music has changed over the years. I never really know what to expect when she announces a new album, which makes it even more exciting. Even though all three albums are so different, I don’t think I could ever pick just one to listen to forever.

Each one has its own place in my music library, and I’m already looking forward to whatever she releases next.
