Sometimes it seems like blondes truly have more fun on Halloween. Especially when all of the iconic TV and movie characters are blonde. So, if not Elle Woods, Regina George or Barbie, what can a brunette girl rock on Halloween that’s equally iconic?

Nikki From “Obsession”

She is arguably the most terrifying movie character of the year and, conveniently, she just so happens to be hot. I have a feeling we’ll be seeing a lot of Freaky Nikki costumes this Halloween.

Charli XCX

This sexy party girl pop-culture icon makes for the perfect Halloween look for girls who want to look their absolute hottest this Halloween. Capture her essence with black leather and the signature ‘Brat’ apple green.

Rachel Berry From “Glee”

“Glee” never gets old, at least not for fellow Gleeks. Channel your inner star with a Rachel Berry costume.

Recreate Rachel’s preppy everyday vibe: knee socks, headband and perhaps a sweater or a collared shirt.

Mitchie From “Camp Rock”

The new reboot, “Camp Rock 3,” has us all reminiscing about the early 2000s. The styling in the early “Camp Rock” movies is easily recognizable and incredibly costume-worthy. Whether it’s layering T-shirts or flare jeans, just make sure to carry a microphone.

Bonus points for suede fringe boots.

Queen Penelope Or Athena From “The Odyssey”

Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” offers a great opportunity to be trendy and ethereal this Halloween. These movie characters make beautiful costumes for brunettes who want to feel like a goddess on Halloween.

Jessica Day From “New Girl”

If you prefer cutie over spooky and love “New Girl,” Jessica Day might be the costume for you. Jess has the kind of quirky and quintessential fashion sense that makes for a great Halloween costume.

Once you’ve got the outfit down, all you need is a pair of clip-on bangs, wide-lensed glasses and an awkward catchphrase to complete the look.

Olivia Rodrigo

Sabrina Carpenter’s iconic, sequined ‘”Short and Sweet” outfits were certainly a win for the blondes last Halloween. But this year, pop icon Olivia Rodrigo has some iconic looks worth replicating.

Rory Gilmore From “Gilmore Girls”

“Gilmore Girls” is everyone’s favorite binge-worthy TV show for fall. So, what better time than Halloween to be Rory Gilmore?

Whether it’s her Chilton uniform or a cozy cable-knit sweater, as long as you have a Luke’s coffee cup in hand, you will pass for Rory.

Lorde

Lorde may seem like a difficult costume to recognize, but her “Man of the Year” single cover featuring a duct-taped bra with jeans makes for a visually compelling and unique costume idea.

Pricilla Presley

Sofia Coppola’s film, “Pricilla,” is crawling with costume ideas. With her big hair and heavy eye makeup, Pricilla Presley’s distinctive look makes for a classic Halloween costume.

As a brunette, there is no reason to be discouraged when it comes to choosing a Halloween costume. Take this as an opportunity to think outside the box and be courageous this year. There are plenty of brunette icons that are often overlooked.
