Somehow, it’s already October, which means college students have been living in their dorms for a couple of months. It’s around this time that the novelty of living in a new space is starting to wear off as real life sets in — and no matter how hard you worked on that packing list over the summer, inevitably, there are going to be at least a few things you still need to get in order to make your room truly feel like home. Thankfully, Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days 2026 event is here — and it’s full of dorm essentials you can grab for just a fraction of their normal prices.

Taking place in early October every year, Prime Big Deal Days is a two-day sale exclusively for Amazon Prime members. This year, the sales event runs from Oct. 6 to Oct. 7 and features major discounts across tons of categories — from makeup and skin care to electronics and groceries, and pretty much anything in between. (And if you’re not a Prime member, no stress! You can sign up now to access the deals.)

Below, check out some of the top deals on home items that college students can shop for their dorms — from bedding items to cleaning products to nifty gadgets you didn’t even know you needed.

ASAKUKI Essential Oil Diffuser ($18)

Most dorms don’t allow candles, but if you want something that sets the vibe and helps your space smell good, an essential oil diffuser is a good alternative! This one comes with a remote control and seven color LED lights for even more customizable ambiance.

HP

HP Smart Tank 5003 Wireless All-in-One Ink Tank Printer, Scanner, Copier ($150)

There comes a time in every college student’s life when they question whether they can really rely on their school’s printers. If that’s where you’re at right now, it might be time to get a printer (and scanner! and copier!) of your own.

Hatch Restore 3 ($136)

The wellness girlies have been obsessing over Hatch for quite a while now, and if you’ve been curious about what all the fuss is about, now might be the perfect time to try it for yourself.

Keurig K-Express Single Serve K-Cup Pod Coffee Maker ($60)

Most college students don’t have the budget to go to a café every day, and dining hall drip brew can only get you so far. So, if you’re ready to make your own coffee in your dorm, this Keurig might be right for you.

Shark WANDVAC Cordless Hand Vac ($80)

After a couple of months in your dorm room, you’ve probably realized just how badly you need a vacuum. Here’s a compact option you can easily store in your closet.

Ninja Blast Portable Blender ($50)

Feeling like your morning routine needs a little extra something? How about a homemade smoothie? This portable blender makes it easy to blend up ingredients and then take your beverage on the go.

Levoit Air Purifier ($90)

If your dorm air seems stale, dusty, or even smelly, an air purifier might be the purchase that turns things around. This one is small and quiet — perfect for a shared space.

Conair Steamer ($48)

Running your clothes through the dryer in your dorm’s communal laundry room might keep the wrinkles out of your clothes… but it might not. (Especially if you forget to grab your load right when it’s finished — no shade.) A handheld steamer can ensure you’re not so rumpled when you go to class.

Kitsch Satin Pillowcases with Zipper ($28)

Want an upgrade for your dorm bed? This pair of satin pillowcases will have you wondering how a twin XL could feel so luxurious.

REST® Evercool® + Cooling Sheet Set, Twin XL ($123)

It can be hard to regulate temperatures in a shared space, so if you’re a hot sleeper, you might benefit from a set of cooling sheets.

Cosori Electric Kettle ($24)

No stove? No problem! This electric kettle will get you the hot water you need in a matter of minutes — great for making tea, ramen, or anything else you need hot water for!

MAXYOYO Folding Sofa Bed ($95)

Who said you can’t host in a dorm room? This folding sofa bed — which comes in a variety of colors — offers plush seating for a casual hang, and folds out into a cushiony bed for one. Slumber party, anyone?
