It’s me again guys! Welcome back to another Dancing with the Stars recap. Week three in the ballroom was Yacht Rock night and surprisingly, I knew a lot of the songs used thanks to Old Navy. Another solid night of beautiful dances was provided and at the end, a shocking elimination ensued. Let’s get into it all with my top dances and thoughts of the night:

  1. Harry & Jenna

Harry’s dance this week might have been my favorite of the night and of his personally! The Jive really suits him and his movement style, so this was the perfect style for him. I felt the dance radiated joy and had the striking movements and foot action that I was looking for. He seemed very comfortable in every movement and there wasn’t one moment that I felt was awkward or could’ve been executed better. I am now excited to see their tango next week.

  1. Ezra & Daniella

Another beautiful dance was delivered by my personal favorites. I truly cannot grasp how they just keep getting better each week. I love how much Ezra is throwing himself into the competition process, and it is truly showing. I wish the scoring was more reflective of this overall. He is at the top of the competition and his scores from the judges need to show that. I loved the fluidity that I felt in the dance’s motion, which can be difficult for him and his prosthetic. Everything from the vocal arrangement to the lighting and camera blocking made this dance both heartwarming and near perfection. I am excited to see their Rumba this week as they conquer another dance style.

  1. Maura & Mark

Maura and her dancing continue to keep me on my toes too. She just has such a graceful presence to her that enhances her dances. I feel that Mark does a great job at using that to choreograph these dances. This week she looked so elegant and light in her footwork, yet she kept up her speed and stamina up. It felt like she was having more fun than last week, so I’m glad that she got out of her head a bit. I would love to see a jazz routine from her at some point possibly. I feel like that would show a different side of her dancing skills.

  1. Tatyana’s Best Dance Yet

Tatyana made a comeback this week that I was honestly not expecting. I thought for sure that based on the competition she would be in jeopardy. She did a great job this week with her story telling and making sure that connected to the dance. It added another layer to the dance, and I felt like I could see her letting loose and having fun with her movements this week. That made all the difference in my opinions and left me feeling like she potentially could make it farther than a couple of the people I previously thought would.

  1. Taylor and Britt’s Elimination

I am actually kind of sad to see the unfolding of this elimination. Do I think Taylor and Britt would have truly made it to the end? Probably not, but I still think that Guillermo should have gone home. I feel like we are seeing a repeat of Andy last season, and I don’t think I’m going to like this. This show is obviously about popularity, but I feel like it should be about the technique too. After all, this show is a dancing show so I feel like the dancing should play a factor in who stays and who goes. On the other hand, I feel bad for Guillermo because you can tell he is just happy to be here and the elimination results are not his fault. Though I may feel he should be eliminated, I in no way want him to feel bad about it. I did see on TikTok some clips of his and Britt’s interaction after the elimination that made me feel sorry for him. I do feel that Britt was just caught up in the moment and upset about how the night went though, so hopefully everything dies down.

Week four of the competition will be Mariah Carey night and I have to say, even though I’m upset at how week three’s elimination went, I am kind of excited to see Guillermo dance to “Obsessed.” The song choice is definitely fitting for his relationship with America right now. I also feel like it will be funny and entertaining to see Connor perform to “Touch My Body.” However, I hope am not disappointed by this next elimination. I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
