3 Ways to Actually Enjoy Fall Before it’s Over

Every year, the perfect fall weather hits after weeks of sweltering walks to class. But this beautiful weather only lasts so long. I feel like every year, it is winter in the blink of an eye, and a big part of why I feel this is because I don’t participate in the fall festivities until it is too late. This year, don’t make my mistake! Keep reading to hear about a few ways to enjoy what I would call the best season before it switches over to the cold, brisk winter months.

Plan the Cliché Fall Activities

Sure, it may seem basic to make plans to go to the apple orchard, watch a scary movie or find the perfect pumpkin for carving, but these activities are popular for a reason! These fall events are not only fun, but are relatively cheap to partake in. They also allow you to spend time with your friends and family during an often very busy time of the semester.

That being said, don’t shy away from the seemingly basic activities! Some of my favorite memories of the fall season involve getting all dressed up in a warm, knit sweater and watching the orange leaves fall. You can’t knock it till you try it, and if I had to recommend a few fun activities to do, these would be my top three:

  1. Have a bonfire (bonus points if you make s’mores)
  2. Go to the local farmers market
  3. Carve pumpkins

Romanticize the Little Signs of Fall

Fall isn’t just amazing because of the associated activities, but it is also so beautiful due to its change in scenery. On your next walk, focus on the changing colors of the leaves from vibrant greens to warm, autumnal shades of red and orange. Watch how the leaves fall and later crunch under your shoes. Enjoy the beauty of what it means for the changing of seasons, and even how it may reflect the changes in your own life. Take the long way home from class and see what the changing of seasons has in store for you.

Make the Perfect Fall Treats

There is so much to love about this time of the year, and a standout favorite of mine is the treats. This fall, don’t pass on the pumpkin spice lattes or pumpkin pie, and definitely don’t miss out on the apple cider! This year, I plan to find some recipes online and make them on my own, and you definitely should too! But of course, store-bought treats never disappoint either.

All of this being said, don’t let this years fall season pass you by like it does to me nearly every year. Soak up the lovely weather, beautifully changing leaves and fun activities and treats that accompany the season.
