The fall season has officially begun! If you haven’t already, it’s time to start getting in the mood for days filled with cozy vibes and crisp autumn air. One easy way to get into the spirit this season is to add some fall decor to your apartment. Based on your aesthetic, you could spice up your place with Halloween- or Thanksgiving-inspired decorations. Or you could keep it simple and get timeless fall pieces that will stay in style for years to come. Here are some items that will make your place feel a little bit warmer as it gets chillier outside. Â
Throw blankets Â
Blankets are the most functional way to elevate your space this fall. Not only are they essential in staying warm as the temperature begins to drop, but they’re also a good way to add color, fun patterns, and/or texture to your dorm or apartment. For those of us who have more neutral bedding or furniture, throw blankets are easy items to toss onto your bed or couch to make the room pop. Â
Seasonal Pillows Â
Having a rotation of seasonal pillows isn’t completely necessary, but switching your pillows to ones that are fall-inspired is an easy way to transition from summer to fall. Home decor stores always seem to be bursting at the seams with new decor this time of year, including decorative pillows. Not only do they add a physical element of comfort, but the warm browns, rich oranges, deep reds, and plums also evoke a sense of comfort as well. Â
Fruit Bowl/BasketÂ
When it comes to decorating for fall, most of us think of decorating the living room or bedroom first. The kitchen is occasionally overlooked, but a fruit bowl or basket is a simple way to add something fresh to the area. This could sit in the center of the counter and act as a centerpiece, or it could be placed in the corner so it’s less visible. Common fall fruits that could be added to your basket include apples, figs, pears, persimmons, pomegranates, oranges, and more.Â
Candles/Candle Warmer Â
One of the best things about fall is the scents that come with it. Spiced pumpkin, apple crisp, warm vanilla, and woody scents add a layer of nostalgia to autumn unlike any other time of year. I just recently purchased a candle warmer, and it was definitely worth the purchase. Not only is there no open flame to worry about, but it also burns your candle evenly every time, unlike a traditional flame. Â
Floral arrangements Â
A lot of people like to buy or create their own wreaths for each season, especially for fall and winter. But there are other ways to add floral arrangements to your space as well! You can create your own arrangement and place it in a cute vase; this could act as a centerpiece for your kitchen counter or coffee table. You could also get a leafy garland for your mantle, TV stand or hang around the windows or entrances in your apartment.  Â
Doormat  Â
If you want to bring a touch of autumn into your everyday routine, a basic way to do this is by adding an autumn-inspired doormat outside your place. Every time you leave or enter your apartment, you’ll be greeted by a festive reminder of the fall season. Once it comes time for the winter holidays, you can simply store it in your coat closet and bring it out at the same time next year. Â
Hopefully these quick-and-easy ideas helped you come up with a plan to spice up your apartment this fall!  Â
