The Hunger Games series has become a household name since the release of the series’s first movie in 2012. Since then, it’s grown its fanbase through its film adaptations of the first three books, and author Suzanne Collins has expanded the fictional world of Panem beyond the story of Katniss Everdeen.

Curiosity and excitement have grown online since the publishing of the series latest novel, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, and the announcement of a film adaptation in April 2025. This announcement sparked anticipation about which artists would be featured on the movie’s soundtrack, given the popularity of past featured artists in The Hunger Games franchise.

Notable artists in the past who’ve been featured in The Hunger Games include Lorde’s “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” cover for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 (2014), and, most recently, Olivia Rodrigo’s “Can’t Catch Me Now” for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (2023).

With only the track titles listed, fans began to speculate that notable artists such as Hozier, Lizzy McAlpine, and Noah Kahan had songs on the tracklist. Fans began to notice lyrical patterns, hints dropped by the artists, and the folk-pop style of each artist’s music fit the tone of the franchise.

On Sept. 24, The Hunger Games’ official Instagram announced the first single from The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping album. The album, featuring 29 total tracks for the movie, was originally announced on Sept. 21st. However, the album was announced with only track titles.

Popular music artist Kahan was revealed as the first artist on the film’s new album. His single “Draw You Out” was released at midnight on Oct. 2, 2026.

As the first single off the album was revealed as Kahan’s song, fans were a mix of shocked and excited for the album, movie, and single to be released. However, with this excitement came validation for some fans, as the announcement was not as surprising as initially expected. Kahan had been teasing his future music and specifically this song on social media.

In August 2026, Kahan took to X to post lyrics to one of his new songs, and as expected, it contained the phrase “I draw you out,” which fans immediately matched with the tracklist announced by The Hunger Games Instagram post.

After the official announcement, Kahan also promoted his new single and his involvement with The Hunger Games album by engaging with fans and including a teaser of the single during his concert. Through Kahan’s playful teasers, hints, and clues online regarding “Draw You Out,” he has captivated his own fans and The Hunger Games community alike, building excitement and anticipation for what the film has in store.

“Draw You Out” has been one of the most anticipated single releases for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The song encompasses the heart, soul, and creativity of The Hunger Games world while staying true to the folksy, lighthearted nature of Kahan’s music.

With the single’s release, fan theories regarding Kahan’s involvement with the series have been confirmed, as the opening lyrics match those that he posted back on X. “Draw You Out,” and hopefully the rest of the album, will bring to life the spirit and stories of The Hunger Games in a whole new light.
