Transitioning from being home to school can be hard, no matter what year you are in. Here are some ways to make your dorm room or apartment feel like home.

Pictures

Pictures are always an amazing way to decorate your room to feel like home. Whether that be pictures of your friends, family, or pets just having pictures up in your room can give your room some character and can help make you feel less alone and more at home.

Pillows and Stuffed Animals

For me having a really pretty bed really helps feel at home. One of the best ways to decorate your bed and make it prettier is cute pillows and stuffed animals. Some cute pillows that fit your room’s theme and some cute stuffed animals that remind you of home are always helpful.

Lights

Fairy lights or LED lights are a great way to make your room more fun. They also allow for extra lighting or just a nice ambience at times when you want to turn the lights off.

Wall Art

Getting some cute wall art that matches your room’s theme or your interests can always make your room feel more like home. Whether that just be prints that look really pretty or maybe posters from your favorite artists.

Blankets

You already have the blankets on your bed, but sometimes it makes your room feel more cozy when you have multiple blankets. Maybe you don’t want to make your bed again so you just grab one of your other extra cute blankets instead.

All these things are so simple, but they can really help to make you enjoy spending time in your room and can make the transition back to school so much easier.
