Halloween can be stressful, especially when it’s so nearby, and you still haven’t picked out your costume. As a ginger girl myself, it can be even harder to find a cool costume for someone with red hair, as there aren’t quite as many options for us ginger girls. Below, I’ve listed my top five Halloween costume ideas for gingers.

Ginger Spice

Starting off basic, I know. But seriously, Ginger Spice is such a cute costume and can be executed so well. I love how simple it is, but how well it can be done.

I love the idea of bedazzling the Union Jack on your dress. I think that this is also recognizable enough that you won’t have to explain your costume the whole night, which can be seriously annoying.

For this costume, you need the mini Union Jack Dress and some red boots. I personally think knee-high boots are cuter, but whatever shoes you have will work, as the dress is really the main attraction.

Cady Heron

Cady Heron is iconic, and you should be too. I love this for a group costume or for a solo one. I adore this dress and think that it is so cute, especially with the red bra and black tights. I haven’t seen this done by many people, and while you might have to show people some pictures for reference, overall, I think it’s a great option.

You just need a black minidress, black tights and a red bra. To get it even closer to the original costume, you can look for a black mini dress with a pink stripe, or add one yourself with some ribbon.

Mary Jane Watson

I had to include a couple’s costume for all the girlfriends out there, and I truly think that Mary Jane Watson is unbeatable. Especially with the release of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” over the summer, I think that this costume is adorable and could be done so well. It’s also pretty popular and very in right now.

All you need for this look is a black headband, black mini skirt and button-up jacket. I love this option for cold weather as well, since you have an excuse to be warm.

Ruby Roundhouse

If you love “Jumanji,” then you will love this idea. Ruby Roundhouse is a great idea for a more niche red-haired costume. It also does not require much attire at all, which is nice for a college student.

All you will need is cargo mini shorts, a red crop top and some leather accessories. I would also pair this look with some black combat boots if you have them.

Easy A

“Easy A” is an iconic movie, but also an iconic costume. I love how simple it is, but also how recognizable it can be. I also adore the fact that it gives you an excuse to wear sunglasses at night.

For this costume, all you need is a black corset and a black miniskirt or black leggings, with a cutout red A on your chest. The sunglasses aren’t necessary, but they do add the absolute coolest touch to your costume.

I hope these ideas gave you redheads some inspiration and help with deciding on your costumes! I’m wishing you all a very fun and safe Halloween.
